Off-topic a bit but an NBC producer was at Pebble Beach last week and said he's never seen the rough at Pebble like it is now. He was walking around in trousers and the dew on the rough left wet spots up to almost his knees.

i'm not sure you understand. BO explained that he has no interest in following shottracker, so one can assume that it is not worth following.

before you express your indignation, consider that BO is the greatest (or second greatest) golfer to ever post on the 2p2 golf forum and has been known to spot scratch golfers 2 strokes per side. he's been there, done that, presumably from the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli and every mini-tour inbetween. he's gone head-to-head with Regis Philbin himself. if he says the US Amateur is a major, you should believe him. if you can't understand why, consider killing yourself.

friendo, if there is anybody that deserves to tell people how to live their life it's ntnBO.

Dude, I just got a mental image of guys hovering over their computer monitors waiting for a line to be drawn on a picture of a golf hole along with the accompanying description. And as soon as it happened commenting about the line. I understand people are at work and that it's no big deal. I just found it humorous at the time.

However, I will be irate if TGC doesn't stay on past their allotted time like yesterday. Two players on the actual leaderboard have yet to finish. Furyk and Levin.

4 players in the top 10 still on the course right now. #2 and #5 were still on the course when coverage ended. No Golf Channel coverage. So great that we got the extra yesterday to watch somebody finish T49.

me and a co-worker had this year's masters streams up on our computers thursday and friday, the next week the company sends out some notice about abusing internet privileges that was directed mainly at us so i don't even keep shottracker up now, just check the leaderboard every so often

Awesome. US OPEN BABY! Can't wait to see these guys get punished for missing greens. I hope the rough off the fairway isn't an automatic pitch out though. I wanna see guys attempt to go for shots and potentially blow up, or hit the shot of their lives...anything but boring pitch outs.

I know Phil will find a way to go for greens no matter what it looks like, so at least we can expect some drama there.

They're playing now, but the Golf Channel is showing round 2 play. Any idea why? (I just turned it on, maybe it was explained earlier)

Though I am not in any way affiliated with the medical profession, and should not be commenting on anyone's general condition, AND I have never worked in the electronic media, so am not intimately familiar with the body morphing phenomenon, AND I have never played golf at the highest levels, I just wanted to say:

If TV adds 10 pounds, Justin Rose is one skinny mofo.

Barnes fires a 10 under 62! Big fan of his. I hope he comes back with something in the tank tomorrow to destroy Fowler.

I thought that shirt made Justin's torso look bigger than normal for some reason.....and believe me, I don't notice things like that usually!

man nicklaus was rly giving it to the other big names on tour just completely dismissing them as any sort of competition to tiger. did he forget vijay's incredible run? meh im a bit bias but i thought he could have at least mentioned something, anything, about phil and the gang.

I didn't see what he said, so I can't comment on that. It does seem odd that Tiger's big Sunday showdowns haven't been with the best of his contemporaries (unless my memory is off). You'd think with all the majors he has won, etc. etc.

he said something to the effect of "we've all been wondering when Tiger's competition is going to come.....it looks like it will be like when i came along ten years after arnold." it seems wayyyyy too early to make this claim with everything that's gone on this past year with Tiger. (not saying he's wrong, but it seems extremely results oriented over a very small sample) We only need to look at sergio for a prime example of this.

yes i know im being nitty. as a tiger fan it came off as him sort of downplaying tiger's success to date by implying that tiger hasn't had any competition to deal with.

Nicklaus is cranky, old, and boring, and does nothing but put today's players players down, or give them backhanded compliments. I seriously wish the guy would just go away.

does the CBS coverage seem particularly awful today?

Tiger is 9 off the lead, more of him trying to save bogey from 15 ft. please
