I am travelling to Vegas in March and was wondering if there were any other PGA/CPGA members on here who could give me some insight if the courses there have reduced rates/cart fees for fellow professionals?

I was there two years ago and played TPC Las Vegas and their pro rate was $165 which is not much of a pro rate IMO. Yes it is better than the orginal price tag of $195 but when I was in Scottsdale, I had no problems getting on for 20/30$ at Troon North and other high end courses.

Just looking for some of your personal experiences with the local pros there.

Cheers

you're coming out during the busiest time of the year, don't expect too many favors, in fact it's slightly discourteous to even be looking for a break in rate during the peak season.

Discourteous? I don't think so.

I also failed to mention that I would be showing up with 7 other guests. But I do not expect comp rounds everywhere I go, I just politely make them aware that I am a fellow member and whatever deals they offer I kindly accept.

I would only expect someone to treat me as I would treat a fellow professional if they were to visit my course.

But thank you for your input. I do realise that peak season is the worst time to get any type of break in rate.

I think I am probably spoiled to live in the area I do, as it goes without saying that all pros get comped as long as they are not taking up prime time tee times.

Vegas golf is a whole different animal, I wouldn't dream trying to get on anywhere for free/cheap when I worked out there during this time.

If your 7 guests are paying full rate then you can probably work something out better than $165. Being some random Canadian golf professional entitles you to just about nothing, but bringing out $1500+ in business should be enough to get you hooked up.

Already got replies from HP at Tuscany and Wolf Creek and both offered me a cart fee of $30.

They are nicer than you thought.

But it does help that I am bringing 7 guys

hope you realize how far away these courses are if you're staying on the strip

Yeah I realise they are a bit of a drive. But they look like some of the the must play courses in the area. Wolf Creek is 90 minutes and Tuscan is 40 ish?

Spenda, I appreciate your help. Cheers.

p.s.-BJohnson must not have many friends if he has come to the conclusion that he dislikes me cause of this thread.....

ok, I am over it

Your best bet is to ign up to golfnow.com and check your mailbox for daily deals.

As a treat head to Mesquite and play Wolf Creek. They have one set of tees for the PGA members

Tuscany is also a treat
