Same goes for MM for a million. Why not just M (or KK) when you already use K for a thousand.
An eagle is one better than birdie.

A double eagle is 2x better than birdie.

A triple eagle is 3x better than birdie, e.g. holing out on a par 5.

Since the albatross has the longest wingspan of any living bird species, I suspect one would need to find a prehistoric bird with longer wingspan to describe a triple eagle, perhaps Pelagornis sandersi.

You just described them as a double birdie and a triple birdie, which at least makes sense but isn’t what we’re talking about.

No, I described eagle as one better than birdie, double eagle 2 better than birdie, and triple eagle 3 better than birdie. 1x, 2x, 3x, where x is the unit equal to the difference between eagle and birdie.

That is just stupid, the reference is always your shots to PAR and not to Birdie. Therefore Double Eagle is making no sense and if you don’t want to call it Albatross it should be called Triple Birdie (which is even more stupid).

It's not the size of the bird, it's how rare it is. A 'triple eagle' is called a Condor, or occasionally a Gyrfalcon.

FWIW an albatross is noteworthy for their longest wingspan of any living bird, not their rarity.

For rarity there are several endangered bird species threatened with extinction rarer than the albatross. California condor is notably rare, with Spix's macaw likely the rarest. The ivory billed woodpecker was considered extinct until evidence of its existence in the wild put that claim into dispute.

One could go with the kori bustard, which is the biggest (i.e. heaviest) flight worthy bird.

Interesting Bryson using a new set of irons he supposedly designed with bulge. The clubs were approved by USGA 2 days ago.

Brandel claims that bulge in irons has never been done before, which I doubt. My Cleveland SW has visible bulge, and some other SW manufacturers also include bulge. Never looked for bulge in 2-wedge though.

ETA My SW does not have bulge on the face, but is curved similar to bulge nearest the lowest groove. So maybe Brandel is correct.

I used to like Zach Johnson, but since the RC he's been a douche. Imagine swearing at Augusta patrons.

Tough conditions today. The pm/am draw definitely had the advantage, some big scores and missed cuts in the pm. Tiger looking solid, short game on point and no limp.

Even though he didn't limp I didn't think Tiger ever looked physically comfortable. Maybe it was the conditions, maybe it was just what it looked like, which was that everything hurts.
