Someone should tell Scotty line follows speed.

Hard to imagine he intentionally tried to trickle the ball into the hole from 5.5 feet to get into a playoff.

And Shotlink claimed Scotty had 19" coming back for par. Watching the live feed maybe 4", at most.

I agree, my conspiracy is that in the final pairing, someone like Scotty (and others) would have a chat at some point on the back 9 and say to the playing partner in the lead. "I'mma let you win one, because I have plenty, I don't wanna do all these pictures and interviews, but I'mma need a cut...."

Having some parity in golf is good for PGA, Scotty seems too nice to take on the "me against the field" character that Tiger had.

Like Cal slingshotting Rickie in for a win?

PGAT GOAT

edit: McCarthy matches the fewest putts over a 72-hole tournament (92 putts)

breaks down to 1.28 putts per hole

Dramatic finish. Denny was Superman that back nine, wow.

Lol at Akshay putting his shoulder out from a fistpump. A stiff breeze might snap him in half.

Same goes for MM for a million. Why not just M (or KK) when you already use K for a thousand.

Mm for million is definitely not a standard thing in casual writing for Americans. Maybe they do that in business writing but I've seen it used far more on European articles and by Euro posters on this forum.

I would say most people also use albatross over double eagle. Sounds way cooler.

Last edited by GusJohnsonGOAT; 04-09-2024 at 02:46 PM. Reason: MM seems common in finance since apparently M can mean 1000. Lol

mille = one thousand in Latin

MM to signify one million makes all kind of sense

So why use K? It makes no sense.
Just as much sense as we ise both metric and imperial in the UK.

Anyway. Par 3 at Augusta tomorrow. The week begins here....

Presumably you've bet with betfair. It is actually a pretty neutral book. The win book is 200% and the place book is 66%. So you lose half of every win bet and win half of every place bet.

But comparing the betfair prices with the exchange prices many are less than half the exchange price (a reasonable guide to true price), min woo is 35%. Bryson the shamboy for example is 66%, so picking randoms in this kind of book isn't a great policy.
