The next four months are going to be extremely exciting if you are a fan of the LPGA. In fact, it will be exciting if your a women's golf fan period. Doesn't matter which tour you follow. The competition for qualifying for spots on the International Crown team and the Olympic team is just starting to heat up now. With the LPGA staging 17 tournaments over the next 19 weeks, with three of them being major championships, there has never been more at stake.

After a one week break, the LPGA resumes its schedule this week with the playing of the LPGA Founders Cup. This will be the first of 3 consecutive tournaments that will be played on the west coast of the United States, and will include the year's first major championship.

wow first nine 27 for Mi Hyang Lee. Doesn't look like she could keep it going though.

In other news, what is going on with Michelle Wie? Hasn't broken 70 yet in 15 rounds, well on her way to missing another cut after bottom 10 finishes in no-cut events her last two starts. There's mediocrity and then there's this.

Wow, you damn well better shoot in the 50's after carding a 27 on the front.

And Se Ri Pak announces she'll retire at the end of the year. Busy day for the LPGA!

Ai Miyazato paired with Lexi today. Just a slight contrast there.

Looks like Ai is using a 47" driver.

Question of the day, will Wie stay on the first page of the leader board? You know she's going to get a lot of TV time being only a couple back.

She sure defined "holding it together" today. Considering she hasn't played well lately it's a pretty good sign.

It has to be good for Lexi's confidence to finish strong after putting so poorly on the front nine. Great stacked leaderboard, tomorrow should be fun and it's so great to get a primetime finish.

Heard Caitlyn Jenner won the pro-am. I saw (him) play several years ago at Sherwood, with that kind of game probably could earn $200k/year.

Lexi should probably be up by 5 or more. She has such a big advantage over the field on a long course when she's hitting fairways, and especially here with the thick rough.

Very competitive leaderboard for Sunday. But I suspect those not named Lydia Ko are playing for 2nd.

I am always amazed Lexi can hit the center of the club face as often as she does the way she goes after the driver. Fun to watch, just worried about her wrists 5 or 10 years from now.

let us LPGA!

Lexay with the shaky opening bogey. That putter.

Lydia and Spieth quite alike, so much clutch putting. And so young obv. Painful watching the Jutanugarn meltdown.

Yeah, that was too bad. That tee ball Jutanugarn hit on 18 was the worst shot shown all weekend.

Lydia is just so steady. Pretty amusing to listen to the commentators describe her as a plodder, though.

Lexi might want to change putters, she never looked confident over anything today.

It is a fully adjustable putter though. Change the lie angle and weights and go at it again. She was awful ball striking today either way.
