Tiger's first win I do believe was Vegas on a sponsors exemption I do believe. Why cant you go back every now and than and play.

I still wish the tour would put a similar rule as the ladies tour and force players to play a tournament prior to the Fed Ex Cup once every three years and after once every five years. It would be good for the tour
These are crazy.

He doesn't owe anyone for a sponsors exemption. And these guys are independent contractors - they shouldn't be obligated to play every tour event over any period of time.

Those are odd things to hold against any golfer, let alone Tiger. Tiger has grown the sport more than any golfer ever, to the benefit of all associated with it.

The tour provides them the stage and can dictate the rules. Dont like em play elsewhere. They will never implement any of them as Tiger does whatever Tiger pleases with only one person to consider himself.

Don't see why the tour would force the guys to play an event every few years. I'm guessing the LPGA does so because those tours aren't as big of draws as the PGA tours and they are trying to survive the tour stops.

I don't think Tiger has ever come to Houston in his entire career. Somehow, people still show up. And if a stop like Valero Texas falls by the wayside (this year should be brutal since they are now right before the Masters I think) then they should easily be able to fill the void in another city with another corporation backing it.

I wish the lower-tier tournaments would do more gimmicky formats to separate themselves from the marquee events.

It might not influence who comes or doesn't but it will certainly distinguish themselves for tv ratings, etc.

How about they set a field of 128. Blind draw two man teams. Run it like the Accenture playing 4 ball instead of match play. 4 Ball leads to more interesting strategy, more aggressive targets and putts, more must make putts and drama.

Yeah the stars could get knocked out early. But guess what... if you're using this gimmicky format you probably don't have any really big names anyway.

The problem is Sat/Sun, who wants to come out to these events to see 4 groups play? Current format allows 30+ groups on the weekend.

so even when the only time he is tested away from competition its when he is recovering from his knee surgery. but it doesnt say he tested positive and im confused. i thought people were saying its certain he used banned substances for his recovery from surgery. strange. i guess he just cheated it.

No one has any proof that he used. The only minor blemish is his association with a steroid doc from Canada. Its just in today's society if there is the slightest indication you used and excelled we have to assume your a guilty SOB.

PGA doesn't want testing and doesn't care if its players use why would they?

LOL

He knows his game is back, and back with a vengeance. Tiger is one of those guys who can't let any petty little thing go. You better believe he's going to stomp on some people especially after he gets his next couple majors under his belt

Can we all agree that in order to say his career is back on track he needs to win a Major not Majors?

Ill throw this out to a Tiger Lover

Masters 2013 $100 wager You get Tiger I get 5 other golfers of my pick even odds

Persimmon woods were known to sneak in a dastardly kidney punch when they had too many drinks.

I am surprised you didnt question weather the war really happened also

Comparing those two eras is a waste

Back than the equipment was not as advanced nor the ball. They never had coaches, sports Pyschologists, HGH, or cared as much about fitness. Purses were not as large travel was harder.

brandle with a lowercase b still doesn't understand that competition is massively better today and that equipment/fitness only helps the field catch up to the elite players

i mean this is basic stuff

I agree with you 100% on that. In Jacks era and Hogans how many kids picked up a club at 3? or worked as hard as today's players.

I think Tiger was a first to put in so much work and focus on fitness.

so exactly how is the equipment harder on the body?

or are you saying brandel meant their bodys were so out of shape that the equipment made them hurt? hmmm, if thats the case i suppose those old uppity country club white men wouldnt stand a chance even against guys like kuchar or stricker whom probably work out the least out of the top tour pros, but are still miles ahead of them in regards to being in shape.

i just dont buy that hogan, jones, sneed, etc. even jack to a certain degree were so great, that if they were somehow transported to the present day, they would be the same players. i tend to think their career stats would be significantly weaker if they did. they played in an era(less for jack but still very much) where golf was available to very few people. mostly rich white country club men. sure some of them came from poor backgrounds but the pool of players they played against hardly reflected society. think of baseball before african americans were allowed to play, or basketball, etc. can you really agree george mikan would be the same player if he had to face kareem, wilt, etc.

sure they were the best of their era, but there era was full of weak players that probably would have a hard time on the web tour nowadays.

I have no clue why it may be harder. They were great players and hard to dispute. Its more like Brandell cant say anything anymore. If you critique Tiger Woods your evil .
Comparing the old days to now just doesnt make sense. That would apply to many sports

I personally think Tiger is the GOAT I just don't think much of him as a human being. I think he used HGH but have no proof and it may not have been illegal back than. I never thought he would win again and has proved me wrong. I never thought he would win a Major again and looks like he will prove me wrong again.
