13th hole from back of 4 green. I cannot get away from big numbers this trip. 2 triples today shot 85. Like to crack 80 at least once when I come up. Opportunity slipping away Old Mac tomorrow eats my lunch.

Pacific 9-10-11-12 is my favorite stretch on property, especially if you get to play 10 from up top. guessing you played 9 to the upper green?

Yep upper green on 9. Playing good for the most part just having too many of those "Bandon" holes to put up a number. Continue to smash skins though haha! 14 first day, 18 second day, 9 yesterday. Also won 90$ at glow golf so got that going for me Old Mac today at 10:10 weather continues to be amazing. Requested caddies for today actually a young kid who's a stick from our hometown and his friend. They play at a college somewhere near here can't recall which one. Got a caddie second day at trails, dude was a grizzly old crab fisherman type guy mis read putts all day my usual caddie Nick W is out of town. I highly recommend him to anyone. Gonna grub and do a little shopping this morn

i've had three or four early january weekends that look to be pretty much the exact same weather. low 40s and maybe a little overcast in the morning (best to keep the frost away) and cleared by late morning with no wind and temps in the high 50s/low 60s.

i really like seeing the course on a sunny day in december/january when the sun is low in the sky...it really accentuates all of the subtle contours of the fairways and greens.

one of the guys in my group has hired the same caddie the past few trips. he used to be a boxer and i thought his name was Nick. Trails is his favorite course and he did a great job coaching us around, when to pull driver and when to back off from the tee, etc. I also shot 8 strokes better than my course HC so that may have had something to do with it.

Could be. Big tall dude? There's a couple of Nicks but yeah he is good. That was the best 9 holes I've ever played at Bandon. Epic sunset good friends, little booze, little herb, warm weather, and the green are the best on the resort right now hands down. Rolled so pure.

My career rounds there:

Old Mac - 3
Pacific - 3
Bandon - 1
Preserve - 1
Trails - 0
Shortys - 0

Not any particular reason for those just the way the tee times worked out. Trails was supposed to be my last round last trip and I hoped to get out early for the 2nd round of the day but a group of 20 didn't let that happen. Add to that I was going off as a single so I passed since I had to drive back to Portland.

Skipping 2018 but will likely be back in 2019 in March again.

That's a wrap. Back home now sore feet already scheming heading back on Tuesday. Weather forecast is same all week. This trip ranks up there with the best of them for sure. Hard not to when it's blue bird every day. And I agree, play trails more peeps! Bandon was in by far the best shape of the 4. Also random side note met Mike Keiser he tried to buy my buddy a beer. Didn't even know it was him until after haha. Guess he was on property for a few days. Thanks for following along.

i know...I KNOW.....
the grumpy ol' grandpa mentioned several posts above really doesn't like trails, so he doesn't schedule trails rounds on our trips. i'm not sure how many times he's played it since the renovation but apparently his dozen or so rounds pre-renovation have scarred him for life. unfortunately i'm at the mercy of my cruise director for the january trips.

Chambers is changing their greens from fine fescue to poa. It's going to take a few seasons.

About time they are. Good part about Fox winning rights to US Open is having to televise all the USGA events so we will get to see Bandon on tv, looking forward to that.

Didn't they show the fourball event from Pacific Dunes a couple years ago?
