Has anyone played footgolf? I jacked up my shoulder and cant play golf probably till next year but hate being off the course. I was watching these guys playing footgolf and it looked like a blast. Hope to give it a try once it warms up a little soon.

It looks fun especially when drinking but would totally be afraid to blow an ACL or pull a hamstring. Would totally go ahead if I couldn't golf because of a shoulder issue, that or take up 1 handed golf.

I did footgolf last summer in Ireland, it was fun for about a hole. Soccer balls don't stop rolling around a contoured golf course, so if we played a shot and it didn't go in the hole, the ball rolled at least 40-50 yards down the slope of the green. There were 9 of us that went and we all hated it by the second or third hole.

I have a nearby course which offers footgolf - it's gotten quite popular, but mostly with non-golfers. I've never tried it and it doesn't look that fun imo.

I'd rather try disc-golf but with a bad shoulder that might not be an option either.

Yah drinking would seem to add to the fun. I already tore my ACL once so ill have to take it easy as I dont want to be totally Mr. Glass.

I could see going back as forth not being fun. Guess part of the learning curve of the game and a lot easier when can pitch and putt with higher confidence.

I hear its spreading and a lot of golfers kinda frown down on it but the general sample size points to a coexistence with golfers that works ok.

Im going to wait to play till April or May as Im in Seattle and could go now but Ive been working out around my shoulder and would be better to try when stronger.

Havent tried footgolf, guess it would be fun if the goals/greens are somewhat sensible.

Discgolfed 3-4 times and like it quite a bit. A lot of advantages to golf (cheaper, quicker, easier, very little equipment, can goof around etc). That said will prolly disc golf just a few times and golf a ton next summer. And yep disc golf I´d say is brutal for shoulder. Damn golf itch is serious.

Always wanted to try footgolf, played soccer my entire life and have become obsessed with golf in the past 4 years. Think I might actually be decent at it. Can't wait for it to come to. Course near me so j can try it

I haven't it tried it but they started offering it at the course where I play. What tilts the **** out of my is in the afternoons they started alternating groups of foot golfers with regular golfers. Waiting for a bunch of non-golfers to finish kicking a ball around before hitting is beyond annoying. So I basically stopped playing there in the late afternoons.

I played disc golf once like 20 years with a stoner friend and it was so fun!

My left shoulder is the jacked up on so probably could throw a disc ok with my right arm but there is a footgolf place near me and will keep me on the course so probably try that out. The golf itch is for sure serious, I miss it but even if my shoulder was tip-top my play would be limited due to funds and time needed on range, but in a few years could have excess of both money and time so my dream of playing golf will come true one day.

I guess the soccer background people have an advantage but the golf side helps with short game. Seems like the game is booming in the US, South America and Europe both with fun participation and also the competitive side. Maybe at a course near you soon.

That sucks, I guess it jacks up the purity of golf a little. Hopefully people are not running around screaming goalllll....

I went once, it pretty much sucks, and I love both golf and soccer.

Yea, I've never had any issues sharing the course with the people playing foot-golf - haven't heard anyone else who minds either.

Foot-golf players tend to be a bit louder than most golfers, but it's a pretty laid-back and non-formal course anyway so I don't think anyone is bothered about that.

Sounded like the footgolf course was on the golf course in front of the green, I can see that being an issue.

At my course they have the footgolf holes away from the green in the rough so at least it doesn't affect the course condition.

The course I play a lot did the same thing, they had a huge area in between a few holes that they used. Takes a 40 yard hook to hit them so you can tee off and just give a quick fore when you do hook it, no different then parallel fairways.

Why it suck for you? Im not a big soccer guy played up to 12 and was average.

Im a total golf addict and miss it a lot, just want to be on the course and would be cool to play something, try to get better and get some exercise.

None of the quick decision making/creativity of soccer or the strategy of golf. I mean its not like you can hit a high lob over a bunker to a tight pin, soccer ball isn't gonna stop no matter how good you are. Granted it was one time on a driving range nine hole par3, but as far as I was concerned you might as well just drop a cone in a field and try to get as close as you can from random spots. I'm not hating too much, but it seems like a desperate move by non profitable courses to pay the mortgage. Since I can't get on as a golfer, I'd love it if Augusta opened it up to foot golf and let me on..

That is how most of my golfing as a kid was done. There was a huge park across the street that you could actually swing a close to full wedge and we would just make holes going from tree to tree

I had an elementary school with a huge field bordering our yard. The parking lot had tall light poles at each with about 1500 sq ft of curbed in grass surrounding them. Night golf anyone?
