****ing ridiculous. I had money on SPIETH but also had money on English for a MUCH bigger collect. I went on monkey tilt when that chip dropped

"Landed on the course volunteers Texan foot"

He may go down in history as one of the all time great game selectors. Showing up at a tournament where all the top players were taking the week off, and the volunteers would give him help at a time when he needed a confidence boost was a shrewd move.

what hole was speith's fortuitious sp? volunteer bounce?

i watch the replay off/on during the day but i haven't noticed it yet........ seen the big misses to the left a bunch of times

if you read steve williams book, it talks about japanese players getting the kicks out of the rough from the home country fans........ not sure if it's true, i'm thinking probably yes.

Jordan now with more wins before his 23rd birthday than Tiger.

Nonetheless, can't wait for the memorial to start.

Big 3 all playing, and all won their previous start. Has to be the first time this has ever happened. Bookies have all at about 7/1 to win.

There's another guy at our club playing the Canadian tour, Bates.
Spenda, thx for the Austin Connelly info....... he had close to low round on both thursday and saturday. not a good round on friday. finished top 10 and 2nd place canadian. very nice start for canadian. watched a couple of videos of him. very articulate media-wise.

fyi, mark mccumber's son tyler - florida gator - finished 2nd. looked like an awesome player amongst obviously very good players.

i marshalled - both finding drives on tough holes and keeping spectators quiet and still on a par 3.

talked to a guy who is top 30 college golfer. following his buddy.....

said some interesting stuff:

that from 160 yards out of thick, wet rough making it onto the green is an excellent result. i'm thinking i play out of worse rough - wet, thick or deep - almost all the time. may have to temper my own expectations.

don't start thinking aggressively going for birdie until 155-160 yards if not closer

makes me really thinking avoiding errors is the game even at very high levels. and absolutely have to hit the fairway.

i saw him and some of the competitors at the sponsor dinner. we were talking low rounds in history and guy they knew who has amazing 2 scoring accomplishments.. this college player neglected to tell me he went 62-62 in a prestigious tourney. 31 on the one of the bracketing nines too.

Don't wanna jinx it, but am anticipating Spieth and McIlroy going tit for tat 4 days in a row.

McIlroy has gone back to a conventional putting stroke 2 weeks before the U.S. Open and 2 weeks after he won the Irish Open using a left-hand low stroke.

Not a good sign to have snakes in your head in regards to your putting weeks before facing Oakmont's treacherous greens. With Rose battling a back injury, the UK may need to temper expectations for this year's second major.

They still have Willett though, and I suspect Rory will be fine.

Sick thing is he is such a choker I'm not sure I bet on him to win at true odds.

So far, we have McGirt, Kjeldsen, and Streb making the big moves today. Not exactly what I had in my crystal ball either.

Jason Day now -11 though (T5), so he could easily be the leader at the end of the day.

So will this be over before CBS picks up the coverage? I don't understand.

Or I just turned on Golf Channel to find out they are doing some type of tape delay. This is pathetic.

They went off early to try to get it in before the rain comes.

That makes sense.

Looks like DJ is choking on the back 9. What a perennial loser.

Got spoiled by the ESPN ticker at the clubhouse on a different tv than the coverage. I had no idea it was delayed until then. Was so confused for a second.

Worked out perfectly. William McGirt/Jon Curran playing for it all in OT

What made CBS think showing something on tape delay in 2016 is a good idea?
