Not sure if trolling but here goes:

- moved to OWGR #5 after starting 2015 at #10
- won golf's "fifth major"
- won a FedEx Cup playoff event
- finished 4th in the FedEx Cup
- five career top 5s and two career runners-up in majors (at age 26)
- qualified for his third U.S. professional national team event

* all this said, Fowler is a rung or two below the other three

SPIETHGOAT, Rory, Day, and Fowler are all in their 20s.

This could be a question for our resident golf historian / curmudgeon nitBO. Has there ever been a time in the history of golf where you'd rather pick four players in their 20s than four players in their 30s ... for the question which group do you except to win more majors in the upcoming year.

To be clear, the 20-something group is the four above .. and, well, pick any four players in their 30s that you want.

Crazy the future of this game.

Yes there has been. Those years were 1998 to 2005. You would pick tiger woods and laugh at the guy who had to pick guys in their 30s.

It's an interesting question if you take out woods. I'd guess the answer is this 4 would be the top.

Not trolling. Obviously I'm aware of his resume, and it pales in comparison to the other three. If he wasn't the guy who used to dress up as a creamsicle I doubt he gets mentioned.

5 players had more than one win this year and he was one. Of course he gets mentioned.

Not quite GOAT yet lol, but yeah - let me know when you decide.

It was fun railing down to the last event, but I wasn't best pleased with Rory giving up and hacking around the green on the final round!

A more straightforward and verifiable question is simply: when have the best 4 players all been under 30 yrs old?

OWGR is a reasonable metric to use. Once Ricky passes Bubba for OWGR #4 (soon), we'll have that situation. Don't know if it has occurred before, I doubt it.

It is FAR from a forgone conclusion that the above will happen. Also, even if Ricky does pass Bubba next year, it is highly likely that superstars like Stenson, Rose, or DJ will have already passed them both.

Yea I would take DJ, Stenson, Rose, Hideki, and sadly Bubba over Fowler for the foreseeable future.

Did anyone else read the Anthony Kim interview? He made it seem like his policy doesn't prohibit him from playing on tour again. Of course whether that actually happens is a long shot, but the implications are exciting nonetheless.

I found this very surprising - Phil has never won 5 times on the PGA Tour in a single season.

It puts a bit more perspective into this season

i dont understand people so high on stenson. i really dont see him with a career worse than justin rose or better than zach johnson.

From what I have read I got the impression AK was a bit of a mess. No one would really say specifically what the deal was, but it felt like he might have had some pretty big obstacles to overcome.

So just got back from St George Utah and we had the first Tee Time at Sand Hollow. Pro tells us a group will be going out ahead of us .

Its a five some and one guy comes up to us and says Thanks and don't worry you'll never see us after the first hole. Two of them tee Off at the same time.
Guy was Zac Blair
He ended up playing in the local tourney the next day and won

Thats awesome. If a PGA Tour pro can do this then every weekend warrior should be able to manage it. These are guys accustomed to playing at super slow paces in 2 and 3somes and can still navigate a 5some around a course quickly while (presumably) walking.

Can someone please explain how the finals and the 25 on the web.com tour work?

Maybe I am a complete idiot for not getting it but the site is so cluttered with **** I don't understand how it works. On some players it says "pga tour card earned" and on most others it doesn't. Take for example Henrik Norlander that won 2 weeks ago and is projected 3rd in the finals but it doesnt say "pga tour card earned". Help.

They had carts but also they went off at about 7:05 so are Tee Time stuck. Like he said we never saw them and we played a 3-1/2 hour round.

Though let me add my one buddy is why golf is so slow. The starter told us we had to set the pace and play a quick round. I say lets shoot for 3.5 hours two of the guys say yes and the other says no fn way 4 hours is fine.

I would assume the people who were top 25 during the regular season are the ones with "PGA tour card earned" next to their name.

There are 25 more cards up for grabs in the playoffs.

Ok, simple as that maybe. Ty

Monte Montgomery in 31st place looks like a fake name, or someone with really un-creative parents..

J.B. Holmes gets what he deserved all along with Furyk unable to play.

So confused how you can lose a single hole twice. Going from even to 2 down after the play of one hole makes zero ****ing sense.
