You should turn pro. Seriously.

Okay, not so seriously. But I'm definitely using that the next time I talk golf with kids at the club.

So his final round 77 was the second best score in the last two groups.

I prefer. There's more golf in my craps, then some of you got in your whole body.

oh man. you sir, are absolutely positively in the wrong in the open championship thread.

that said, did pruitt wear 43? (j/k)

and that open field tackle on the punt return just before the 2:00 mark is something special.

There certainly was a lot of choking in the those last two groups.

I'm happy for KSU. That's their one big win for the last 100 years, so how could you not be?

Maybe. I guess that isn't what I focus on. As I said before, the guy I was disappointed for was Wakefield, who ended up probably where he was expected to end up, but in my mind, played a lot better.

Guy to feel bad for is Norman's caddy; the bogey on 18 cost him about 15 grand or so.

So, you didn't think Norman choked in '96. His level of "choke" didn't get to '96 levels, but there definitely was some "subconscious alteration of his game due to the pressure) there.

Well, we do agree on that.
Hey, beautiful. "A subconscious alteration to his game due to pressure." Where were you guys when the damnable fools ranted for "no such thing as pressure performance differences" for a hundred pages.

BigSoonerFan, you're the only man I ever met that gave me hope.

Like the two Carnoustie Opens, this was one of the best ever, and without doubt links golf at any rate as it should be. By contrast Hoylake was one of the worst ever Opens with no wind and fairways totally burned out so that hitting driver was almost never a factor.

If you want a choke in the Open see 1972 Tony Jacklin. You can catch some of the story and video at http://www.opengolf.com/Championship...ventid=1998052

Or Harrington in 2007 of course. What was he doing on 18? It seemed he was on a mission to redeem himself by winning this time with a solid finish. And that he did.

Vaughan, Barnes and Hunt are the only ones that has not won the Open?

(Or has Barnes won it?)

In 1970 Doug Sanders needed only par at the 18th hole at St. Andrews to beat Nicklaus by one stroke. He pitched his approach 30 feet above the hole and 3-putted, eventually losing to Nicklaus in a playoff. The par putt he missed was 30 inches. I believe Sanders never won a major.

Have you ever heard the story of the white tee?

At the time of that leaderboard Weiskopf was not a former champion.
