Hey Fellas,

Long-time reader, first time writer here. Been grinding out my 20's in Manhattan doing banking and am up for promotion in 2 months. Highly contemplating leaving my current life of 100 hour work weeks in cube-life for a period of time and heading somewhere south (Mexico, Costa Rica, etc.) to play poker. I grew up next to a casino and used to sneak into the poker room underage and do my best Mike McDermott impression (read: blow through my bartending money), and in college I dabbled in MT sNgs but never took the time to truly hone my skills. I majored in finance at a top US school and have little doubt in my ability to get up to speed, but am curious if anyone here has been in similar shoes as mine and taken this leap. If so, would love to connect / chat.

I did a similar thing, leaving a high-intensity job for a life of travel and poker. Long story short, it is worth it if you are healthy and/or have some money already saved up : )
