i'm ashamed to admit i gave this very guy 1000 baht. i was in a hurry (same place, ~subway by phrom pong across from benjasiri) and i swear he was crying, tears down his eyes, everything. i walk home that way nearly every day and have yet to see him again. he will not enjoy the day that i do.

i took "his phone number" and of course when i called it later it was the number for topping up credit. in that fleeting moment i was like hey, if i'm ever totally screwed like this i would want someone to help me. obv regretted 5 mins later.

i generally walk a distance from that stretch when i walk home so if i see him i can approach him from behind and "politely" ask to borrow 1000 baht. good to know he's still around.

i came back from bkk 2 days ago.. i was there for like 4 weeks, standard program (bkk, chiang mai, phuket, peepee,phangan samui,bkk home)...

My question to youuu guuuuuys:
Is it ****ing possible to walk like 500meters in bkk without getting ****ing ripped off or scammed?
Thailand was so ****ing nice but bkk really ****ed us up...

The **** taxi tiltet me so hard whuuuaaaa:

driving threw all the **** city. why not? were ****ing farangs, what could we do? get out and get scammed by another ****ing taxi driver?so we drove like 1hr for 250 baht... if he told me that he was poor and needed some moneys i would have gave him 200 baht for free... its 5 euros lol waynnneee... but ripping of farangs who support thai eco so hard is **** dumb of them..
on our way back we just payd like 80baht.. 10 minutes...


best line for farangs in bkk is getting a guest house near kaoh san and ****ing party the last 1 or 2 nights before flying home imo... u may got shot on kaoh san but not ripped off

India is 5 times worse and they don't even have hot chicks to compensate for the inconvenience. basically had you used pokertableratings or in this case ATF thread prior to visiting you wouldnt have sat heads up with the reg tuk tuk driver rubbing his hands together grinning saying hello welcome! at the arrival of new fish and walked 10 steps further and gotten a reg taxi from the street/ongoing traffic which would have given you no hassle at all hence the 80 baht 10 minute trip home. som nam na!

Posted this in another thread, but not sure it was the right place.

I was told to come here to find some local poker buddies. I'm in Bangkok, this is my 7th trip. I've been here nearly two months now and will be here another month before going back to the UK. I will spend about a month in London then will be back out here again for another 3-4 months. I'm spending most of my time here.

I'm 28, grinding the micros at the moment and currently staying in Bang Kapi (in Bangkok), although i'm searching for a new apartment in a nicer area.

So if anyone is local, it would be great to chat about poker & Thai stuff.
