I'll be going to China (Beijing and Shanghai) for about 2.5 weeks next week, and one of the things I wanted to do was visit the China North International Shooting Range ... description:

Ever had the urge to fire a machine gun? Pop out a rocket-propelled grenade? Snipe a target from downrange?

The China North International Shooting Range, located on the far outskirts of Beijing, has something for the Rambo in all of us. Payment is by the bullet (or anti-tank missile, if that's your preference) and is pretty expensive by Chinese standards. Still, where else are you going to get to fire an AK-47?

Does anyone have any experience with these type of places and have an estimate cost for the various activities? (there was a thread about it on 2+2 a while ago, but cant seem to find it in the archives). google seems to not have any good results.

Also, anything else I should try to do/see/eat while im in China? I can speak chinese so language shouldn't be an issue (but this is only my 2nd trip to china ... most of my asia trips are to Japan and Taiwan).

btw, will be in shanghai for the superbowl ... a friend suggested a bar called "bubba's", anyone been here before or have other suggestions?

What are the prices? I went to a shooting range in Thailand and it was something like 1000 baht to shoot 10 9mm rounds. I guess it would be worth it if you'd never shot a gun before, I couldn't bring myself to spend money on such a blatant ripoff.

OP as it happens I am going to China in a week, and some one who is going with me is planning on taking us shooting, I can ask him what he's planning exactly.

Well you ll be able to find the superbowl on somewhere, but if your going to a bar, means they ll be opening up mighty early. Were 13 hours ahead over here buddy, so it means the bar will have to open up by 7AM or so...(not sure exactly when the superbowl is on, but I assume 6-8ish). Have fun on your trip!
