Rosa if safer than a lot of US cities, so I wouldn't worry about it much, but crime does exist. So use common sense when going out. If you go looking for cocaine and start hitting on the drug dealer's girlfriend, trouble might find you. Also, I'd strongly recommend living in a building that has security.

For a big Sunday grind it's probably worth it to just get a Telcel aircard. Especially if you plan on coming back.

Back up, but in the main parts of TJ it *should* be fine alone if the hotel internet is dodgy. They speak English at official Telcel stores, so it's not too difficult to set up.

I wouldn't play without a telcel card even with wifi. The internet works fine for periods of time then goes out for hours at a time at random. Once you buy the USB device, putting the time on it is actually cheap and it is well worth the investment even if you are just using it as a backup.

Can someone give me Miguel's cell #? Would be greatly appreciated. Last time I got in contact with him my email, but that takes a long time to get a ahold of him.

The 2 numbers on his website don't seem to work.
The MagicJack line 858-433-0561(Office)
The cellphone 52-1-664-229-2009(Cell)

Thanks guys. 3 of us are actually flying into SD around 8:30am on Sunday morning and then driving straight over, so we're already missing a few tournaments as is and, if I remember correctly, stores don't really open until a bit later there. Is there a number of anyone that can buy them for us and then we can meet him and pay him at the hotel or something?
If we can't get telcel cards would you guys recommend just not playing at all? Is the internet that bad?

Don't know if it's the same number or if he can help you out, but the last # I had for Joe the Pro was 661-110-9415, he's my best guess.

Internet has been pretty bad in Rosa lately and I've had friends stay in a hotel in TJ and they said the wifi wasn't great; I personally don't play without at least 2 connections.

Maybe the Marriott near the golf course, though that's just a guess.

I'm coming down Tuesday to grind for 4 days. The hotel I'm staying outside of Rosa has free but spotty wifi. I definitely need a backup/alternate internet source. Can someone please advise exactly what Telcel card I should acquire?!? How much should I spend? What are the options or features I need? It's my first priority when I arrive! Thanks in advance for any help.

perhaps others can chime in here too. I will tell you what I do remember.

There is only one Telcel device/card. It is a USB "stick". You plug it in to one of your USB slots and it is like a modem. It connects you to wireless internet that runs off the cell towers I believe.

I am not exactly sure of the price but I think I spent around 75 dollars to purchase the actual stick and the internet time for the stick. I had a lot going on when I first moved to Rosa and it was a stressful time, and I actually paid with pesos, so my numbers could possibly be off.

There are no options or features you will need. Just go to the main Telcel store and ask for a person who speaks english (if you need that) and tell them you want the USB stick. The only options are how much time you put on. I can't remember which time card I bought but I can tell you that it runs out in a month and I did not come close to using it all even though my internet went out frequently. Often for more than a day at a time. You can keep track of the data you use and recharge it if you use your time up. If you use it strictly for poker, the data usage for stars is very low.

Hey, I'm wondering if anybody has a room to rent in Rosarito or Tijuana, preferably around $500 per month or less.

Probably very short being post work-commute mid-week. 15 mins?

Still good to give plenty of time, as it's the Border and once in a while it's slow/long wait for no apparent reason.

Just don't be the guy missing your flight by relying on one estimate . I've walked North ~a dozen times, so it's still a guess.

Took about a week which seemed a little slow, but the money came no problem.

Lol, like right now by the looks of it driving by, the Sentri line is the longest I've ever seen it. So something obviously bottle-necked the Border (or Sentri driving-lanes, at least) for a bit earlier today.

My sister is walking across the San Ysidro to come visit me and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place for me to tell her to meet me. Preferably a nice restaurant or a coffee shop that is close to the border cross.

Nobody is gonna care if you have Oz or less on you probably even more. If you get caught with it by the Policia you will probably have to pay 20-100$ depending how good your bargaining skills are. Otherwise nobody gives af and smokes all the time including behind bars.

Hell ,there is even a Unofficial 'Banana Night' at Paradise Cove
