I've been told that they play 2 seasons every year in the Mexican 1st Division, and they just had their last home game of this regular season, but come March (?) I highly recommend anyone down here who's a sports fan to attend a Tijuana Xolos soccer game.
It's like college football meets soccer in a smaller stadium and the energy is the tits. Even in a 0-0 tie.
Right off Agua Caliente near the big casino, seemed like a pretty safe area and there were lots of families at the game, etc. as well.
Plus, their "rip-off" beer prices involve a guy pouring two bottles of Tecate into a paper cup for < $5
. Bunch of random/interesting-looking food options and I wanted to try all of them.

Read some SD articles where several thousand people come down from the States for every game, met some friends on the other side and indeed a lot of red and black crossing both ways at San Ysidro.
