I don't know about the whole country, but if your in one of the larger cities then the answer is definitely yes. You'll have to pay a decent bit for it though. I had fast reliable internet when I was there, but I was paying almost 200rmb (round about 25usd,) per month for it. Obviously worth it though, to assure your internet doesn't crap out on you in the middle of a session.

I'm not sure what service it is as my employers got it for me, I just paid the tab, somebody else probably knows the name.

So went to an underground casino and had a knife pulled on me when i sucked for like a 200 USD dollar pot. He got three swipes at me before security beat him down.

The management knew i was a reg and compensated me for it. Sincerely apologized and ended up buying me dinner and a hooker. I told them i could not return anymore and they understood.

So if you hear about the casino near Chao yang St. and East 4th ring (in beijing), dont go there.

as for me im done with the underground scene.

Thanks a lot for the info. Since I plan to 24 table $22/$33 SNGs in Hangzhou next year, 200rmb/month is well worth it. That's really great news for me!

in regards to the ordering food quantities with one hand, going from one to five.

dont order "2" burgers at mc donalds using your thumb and your index finger, becaurse that will get you eight, since that gesture means eight in chinese

always fun when that happens

ya sure, the chinese hand signals are designed to kind of look like the characters for the numbers.

6= Hang loose sign ( pinky and thumb extended)
7= thumb index and middle finger extended , tilted sideways)
8= gun (index and thumb extended, tilted sideways)
9= curled index finger (make a hook with index finger)
10= two different ways, Make a cross with your index fingers from both your hands, or wrap your index finger under your middle finger (like when wishing for that one outer not to come)

Hi,

Recently i had some thought about leaving in China as a poker player for a period between 6 month and two years.
The main goals would be to :

- Learn chinese
- Win as much money as i can while leaving in a cheap place

The most important thing for me would be a good internet connection, bc i play mainly online.

I know that most of this question have answer in the thread, but i find all kind of answer, and some things could have changed since 2008. Thats why i ask those question again.

Is it hard to get a long term visa for an European ?
Do you have difficulties with online poker ? Withdrawal ? What is the cost of living ?

Depends what you mean by living.

My apartment is 2800 sq ft (260 sq meters). Completely furnished, 3 plasma screen tv's, HBO, Showtime, Internet, Water, electricity. I have maid service 3 times a week. I get driven around in a black cab.

For those services i pay about 7500 RMB per month (about 1100 USD).

I go clubbing at least once a week, and i always get bottle service, but my friend is a dance at the club so i only pay about 300 RMB per visit.

The nicest restruant i go to cost 120 RMB, i go about twice a week.

Food is cheap. Beer is cheap.

Overall i spend around 11000-12000 RMB per month.

I dont find anything about netellercards on this thread? And they deleted my post from the macau thread on brick and mortar so i guess this is the place to ask from? So could someone pls tell if they work on macau or not? 2 years a go none of my cards worked correctly (im from finland) and withdrawing was really hard.
