it costs about 1600RMB per year for a 4M ADSL connection in Hangzhou; cable connection costs about 300 a month if available

Hi, I'm planning to go to Hangzhou on 15 december for something like 2 weeks.

I'm looking for a nice deal for service appartment or hotel.

I don't really have a budget, but since hotel are always expensive, i wonder if some people here have some recommandation.

I'm ok to pay until 100dollars per night all depend about how look like the place and of course i need a good connection.

How about night life there? is it crazy or quiet?

what nice to do there or if you have any advice for a single poker player i'm in.

thanks

Any good nightlife spots in Hong Kong on a Sunday and/or Monday night?

Seems like the thread is kinda dead but I'd also like to know if there's any good spots in HK during the week. I'm arriving late saturday, don't really want to spend too much on accomodation but should I be looking at staying on HK Island or is Kowloon ok if I want to go out during the nights?

Don't stay in Kowloon - you can stay at any number of 4 star hotels on the island for about $100 / night. If you party late and have to taxi to Kowloon, that will add on about another $30-40, so you may as well pay a bit more to be on the island. Also if you meet girls they may be less likely to want to go back with you if you're staying in Kowloon (distance / time). Wanchai bars are dumb, go to LKF / Central.

A friend and I are traveling to Hong Kong and Macau in 2 weeks and staying for 2-3 days in each place. Can anyone suggest hostels/bars/places to definitely see while there?

Model night at Dragon-i on Mondays.

Sundays there is a lot happening in Wan Chai. Try New Makati Disco but go during the day time/early evening and get ready to be surprised...

Need suggestions. So I can apparently only stay in Macau until the 6th . I did the whole border jump got 30days, 20. Than I had to go talk to visa immigration got a 10 day extension visa. So now I came back form HK today from a 2 night stay and I didn't get a new 30 day. GOT 0 EXTRA days. Last time I stayed in HK for a night a got a whole new 30 days. So luck of the draw I guess..

So now... my friend from canada and I are planning a trip to Manila from the 11-16. But I'm only allowed to stay here till the 6th.

Not sure what to do got 5 day dead time.. I want to stay here to the 11th so I can go Manila.. I want to stay in Macau for as long as possible. Also the thing is I rented an apartment for 6 months. 2 months into a lease.

A) Can I talk to visa immigration and ask for another 10 days? Could that be an option I do have a relative that lives here and a friend with a working visa.

B) Go to HK and stay there for awhile. I don't like HK and its expensive so thats not a viable option.

C) Go to Manila early. and Figure it out after then. Travel asia.. etc.

D) Go to china for a bit.. got relatives in GZ but I cant stand staying their for over 5 days.?

B) Go home for 30 days. Pay like 1500 for a plane ticket and come back.

Thanks

You can always overstay, but that's not a good option if you plan on coming back soon. I would go to Immigration with your passport and ask for an extension. Bring your plane ticket to show your intent to leave.

Sounds like you're a little new to Macau Visa restrictions. Since you exhausted your visa, do you understand that you'll need to be gone for 30, or maybe 60, days before they allow you to reenter?

You're in macau right now?

I accidentally overstayed for 3days, and when I left I only had to pay a fine. Something like $100HKD/day, I don't exactly remember but it was easy to deal with.

A Player I know just accidentally overstayed for 2 days. He went to immigration and paid a small fine but was told if he overstayed again he would be banned for a year.

Anyhow, there have been a few different types of threads involving, Hong Kong, Macau, and China, but figured we'd start one thread for any questions and answers.

I personally don't know much about this shooting range, and it sounds very cool.

It is very cold with snow and everything in Beijing right now, so the shooting thing may be better in a few months since I assume this activity MUST be done outside somewhere out in the countryside.

My situation in China, is that I live in South East China in Guangzhou (100 min from HK, 70 min from Macau). I help out with a family business involving importing and exporting leather goods. There is a good amount of ex-pats living here and there are some live poker games, with some HORRENDOUS players....Just waiting until Macau jumps on the band wagon so they'll be some legitimate poker action around here.
LOL, YOUR the one who started this ridiculiously massive thread about China! Hahahahahaha so friggen hilarious, didn't know you started it all.

Funny, Im just a lurker now, and dont post too much anymore. I started the thread when I first got here and didnt really know **** about China and was living at a factory in DG.

Those "horrendous" players back then were at American bar and grill, or whatever that place was that shut down years ago, before the massage place games. Not sure if you ever played in those games or not?

How was Macau? Ill be heading back there sometime next week if you wanna go.

Hey,

I'm in Hong Kong for a few weeks and wanted to see if any 2p2ers wanted to meet up/go out drinking. Would like to go and do a Macau trip as well. Open to meeting people in Macau and whatnot.

Anyone ever got into trouble with using MoneyBookers from China through a VPN to deposit/withdrawal money from poker sites?

For instance if you deposit money on Stars from a UK based VPN, and then cash out a few hours later from an ATM in China with your MB mastercard. They could see you're either capable of teleporting, or doing something shady.

Do they care?

You can deposit / withdraw to a bank account in China from Stars, so I don't think you need to use Moneybookers from Stars. I believe the bank they use is the Merchant's bank (wont have a fee that way) but you can also use Bank of China or w/e. This info is a couple years old though so things may be different now.

Thanks for the info. I use China Merchants as well so that's nice. Still want to know about the MoneyBookers thing though, as I play on other sites as well and I have to transfer money around pretty often.
