in like 2 weeks of playing .50-$1 cash games on stars i have been 4bet and got all in twice with KK, both times against AA

90% of the time they fold, 8% of the time they call to see flop, 2% of the time they 4bet (with AA)


so should one just be folding KK to 4bets? i know not a huge sample size, but when i have AA and 3bet they always fold as well

fwiw my stats have to look super nitty to anyone with tracking software, and my 3bets are big enough to protect my stack against set miners, ie if we have 100bb effective and they make it 4 i will 4bet to like 16


thoughts? are these games so nitty (pre at least) that you really have to fold kings? folding kings in an online game!?!?!???!?!?!?


this isnt to say these games arent profitable because others will raise to $3 with KK and stack off for $100 on any flop that doesnt have an A, it just seems that getting it in pre with anything but AA isnt wise

Zoom or normal tables? Zoom FR is a nitfest but even at NL10 regs will 4bet you pretty wide if they know you re-steal a lot and fold with anything but aces and kings.

i was buying into live 2-5 games for $500 with an under $3k life roll, or even crazier playing live PLO with that size roll, heck the entire time ive been playing poker ive been doing it in games im not rolled for so this is nothing to me


im just trying to add a lil bit of consistent cash by nitting it up in these games and taking advantage of players that overplay 1 pair type hands post flop

its not gonna get me rich, but an extra hundred or two a week adds up over time, and the more tables i play the less mistakes i make (to an extent)

K2d - how many table hours of cash are you playing a week? From what I understand 100nl is reasonably tough and I'd be surprised of you run into enough fish to win 100-200bbs/wk w your unbalanced exploitable style.

What is your 3b% and fold to 4b? Sounds like both are v low so anyone w a HUD would be crazy to 4b you w anything but super super premiums.

fwiw though while the games play pretty nitty preflop meaning not loose passive at all most pots are heads up or 3 ways, i wouldnt necessarily describe them as tough because like i mentioned before people will raise to $3 with $100+ effective stacks and then stack off with AQ on Q hi flops or KK on any flop without an A

so all it takes is having patience and waiting for a set or flopped flush or top two and then hoping you are against that big pair they love, and anyone (like you mixgame) who has played with me enough knows i can wait for days without getting out of line


it just seems like they all are good enough to know that you dont 4bet AK or QQ or worse against a nit like me, yet when i raise them postflop they dont continue to give me the deserved credit for a big hand



i try to play all of the .50-$1 full ring games that are running while im playing my tourneys, so usually 3-5 for 6ish hours a day


though i may not play all of the tables running or just not play any cash at all depending on other factors like headache, to many tourneys going, feel like not running good, or average pot in each of the games is $5 and just no action at all


i would guess im making $30ish a day, obv not crushing, but crushing them isnt my goal its just to add a lil extra which adds up over time, while keeping my risk to a minimum

in theory it is super easy, if you can put up with hour and hours of boredom in hopes of getting 1 double up to make up for all the blinds youve posted so that you can book a tiny win

there certainly are much more profitable styles, and more fun

Ever tried shortstacking instead k2d?

imo short stacking raises variance, that is what i used to do when i first moved to vegas and played holdem, but if you are just sitting around waiting for the nuts you might as well be as deep as possible so that when you finally get the hand you can potentially get a big payoff

i did it in PLO a lot, in january at the venetian they changed the structure to a $200-$1000 buy in, "$1-$2" game, but with a $5 bring in and $10 button straddle it played as big or bigger than the 2-5 game, in theory it was a shortstackers dream and i thought i was getting a late xmas present


3 weeks later after losing 1/3 of my life bankroll while constantly getting it in +ev spots preflop i had to give it up, basically go up to casino, buy in for $200, limp for $10, someone raises to $40 3 people call i go run a race getting 1.5+ to 1, run it twice most of the time, get scooped, do it again, get scooped again........ i really hate that game with a passion

i try to avoid her but she is the one who asks what i need, i say there is no sauce this time can i please get some, she says they dont give any sauce with the fish, i say every other time ive got it it came with some good red sauce but im not sure what it is, again "no sorry you must have us mistaken with some other place"

well she was slightly more polite this time at least, and admittedly i am kinda crazy, but i am sane enough to know that the 5 previous times i have ate the fish i put some sort of tasty sauce on it

she says she can give me some mayonnaise or ketchup, i say id really like the other sauce and she says she doesnt know what my problem is but they have never had it........

This happened to a friend just last week actually. Long story short he ended up in the Thai police station. The police kept telling him to sign the form he said no, I want my lawyer here, this went on for around 45 mins, then they let him go. Without having to sign the form.

Of course he was innocent and not caught with a bag full of smack.


I have refused a piss test, because i know they are illegal to do (this was on the street when got pulled over) refused to give piss test until my lawyer came down to see the police asking me. They got bored and were testing more people they pulled over and just let me go after about 15 mins.

Stand your ground, be polite and respectful, smile a lot. But stand your ground it is your legal right to have a lawyer present and as much as they will try to intimidate you just be calm and keep asking for your lawyer. It does help if you have a lawyer mind lol
