Sorry you missed us. I am currently touring different cities in Cambodia and 4_chainz has left the country. He was leasing the bar so I believe the originals owners of the bar just took it back over and reopened it. I'm assuming you were served by Khmers and there wasn't a barang in site.

Gathered from my own results and having talked to other winning players, hourly averages seems to range between $5 to $8 per hour. This is for the $1-$1 game at Lion City. Charley's day game is too new to try and estimate a reliable hourly. Although I will say that his game is deeper as the buy in structure trends higher, players buy in full more often and the action is more swingy. Everyone is treading water at the Lion game and they advertise it even as a social game. In the week that Charley's game has been open, each stack average is right around $100. Whereas the average stack for the Lion game is around $50 to $75. But having said that, neither game will make anyone rich.

I don't have enough sample size in the $1-$2 game to comment; hopefully someone else can.

I haven't seen a $1-$2 game run at Lion but their buy in structure is $20 minimum and $100 maximum for the $1-$1 game. That structure is something a lot of players complain about so it's been tweaked a bit for the Golden Island game at a minimum of $30 and a maximum of $150. The min for the $1-$2 game is $100 and the maximum $1k.

Friend of mine played at Lion City and got given a defaced $50 back and couldn't use it anywhere after... ok sure he should have checked them but that seems shocking from a casino.

I have no idea what is going on with Lion City as the cashier cannot even change $5, there is no one ever there to gamble and all of the slot machines were recently entirely removed. We seem to just play in a huge empty room that is only there for poker. That having bee said, I cannot imagine that the poker staff gave your friend a bad $50 bill on purpose and if he goes back and explains the situation I'm almost sure they'll exchange it.

Hi, this might be off topic but I'm going to visit Cambodia in the next few months. I wanted to stay 3 or 4 months, but I'm not sure if I can get my prescription filled while I'm there. Does anyone know if I can buy Seroquel in a pharmacy in Cambodia? If anyone had a rough idea of price that would great too. Thanks.

if they have it it's probably not the original but some generika,so whatever the price for the original is the generika will be much cheaper..

edit:

in one of these two pharmacies i could find everything i needed until now,so just send them a mail or call (there are obv tons of other pharmacies in cambodia, but in my experience the sortiment of most of them is quite limited)

@poker_triad, thanks for the buy-in info.

Did the bar business not workout for 4_chains? Didn't seem to have it that long. Anyone know why he left? That guy had some great video posts.

I am not in Sihanoukville currently but yes, generally speaking I still hang out in the square. For better or worse, the best looking girls still work there.

How hard is it to buy a gun there?

Im assuming its pretty easy, I dont like guns and have never even shot or held one but it seems like it would be a good investment living there especially walking around with wads of cash

Chalk up the following to the notion that competition is always a good thing. The kitchen at Lion City has been closed for sometime now so when we get hungry during play we have to get something delivered. One night we noticed that many of us order pizza so another player and myself suggested to the night manager that it would not be the worst idea for the room to order pizza once in a while for players who play late. She basically laughed at the notion. A couple of nights later, Korean Charley announced that he would be running his own $1-$1 game and that he would kick things off with free pizza for all the players. They ordered free pizza for us at Lion City for the next 5 consecutive nights.

Charley's new day game has run everyday since its opening and it would be fair to say that it has eaten into the Lion City game and that their game has been somewhat inconsistent since. One of our chief complaints towards the room had been the incompetence of their dealers and manager's inabilities to make correct rulings. To solve this they have hired an expat dealer to come in and train the current dealers and bring them up to speed on proper mechanics and protocols. I've been dealt to by this dealer and I am confident she will do a fine job. But just how much a group of young Khmer dealers are willing to listen to instruction from a barang placed above them remains to be seen; more on this later.

Charley has responded by throwing every type of free Korean food at his players every few days. And now he is about to announce a comp system for his $1-$1 day players. If I heard him correctly, and I can't always be sure of that given the nature of Charley's English, it appears that he will give the players $1 for every hour played. Considering that is what I got in Vegas for playing $1-$2, it looks to be more than a fairly good deal.

Just a few weeks ago we had only 1 game in town with no food service, terrible dealers and a staff completely bereft of any knowledge on the rules. One additional game later and now players are getting free food from every which direction, efforts at improved staffing and even a comp/rakeback deal. Once again, a little competition goes a long way and is always a good thing.

There was one in golden island 1-2game(not sure if it applies to 1-1game though)... Not sure if it helped a lot and most time it where won by Korean, plus there is almost allways extra 'rake' in them

Kind of surprised it didn't work in the past and don't see why there would be added rake. The house should pay for it the same as the food. I mean don't be a douche b, tip the girl for her time and effort afterwards. Maybe that was the issue with the promo in the past and why there would need to be rake. Seems like it would bring in a lot of new players though.
