I agree the $20 is really high, but it ramps up to that level quite slowly, it's $20 on pots of $400 or higher. I believe a $100 pot rakes $5.

A $100 HU pot raked at $5, you are being raked 10% of your profit in the hand. A $400 HU pot raked at $20, you are being raked at 10% of your profit in the hand.

It's hard to beat a game in which even when you get 100bb stacks in you are still being raked 10%.

I'm not sure you can beat that game actually, unless effective stacks are consistently very deep and the game plays big, loose and fast.

I suppose it could be beaten with 100bb stacks if multiway all in pots happened often enough.

If most pots end up HU and see each player putting in 100bbs or less than I don't think the rake is beatable long term in that game.

If it is beatable it's probably for a single digit win rate. Yes even if you were a crusher in that game I think you'd have a hard time cracking $10 an hour.

100bbs is the min buy-in and while I have only grinded Naga World 10-20 times (played more online), you do have people buying for 1000bbs + (played 1 night where the games was 1-2-100$ every single hand, average pot about 1000$ 4 handed). Definitely beatable for 30$+/h as a crusher.

If that's the case then yes, it should be beatable.

A standard Vegas $1/$2 game would not be beatable if max rake was $20. Seems the Naga world game is very different than that though.

Oh yeah, for sure : 1-2 Vegas compared to 1-2 in Asia is night and day, especially when the latter is the biggest game, hence an uncapped buy-in and min of 100bbs (since the 2-5 has been cancelled at Naga a few years back, the 1-2 has been playing bigger). That said, my sample size is small and I have played games - a couple of years back -, where the action was nitty and stack sizes 250bbs on average, making the rake that much harder to beat (and the game boring as hell!!!).

15$ rake at Riverking and 1-2-4$ sounds more beatable though (especially the 5-10$...). What is the rake percentage at Riverking, anyone? 5% I take it?

Anyone recommend any decent places to stay for a month in sihanoukville, have been in a guesthouse place on victory hill for a month and fancy trying another place. Budget like $300-$400, good internet and decent room pretty much only necessities. Joined the fitness resort gym in the end with the classes and personal sessions in the morning has defo been good value.

http://www.agoda.com/zana-house/hote...kville-kh.html

Was $13 a night when I stayed there about a month ago. Didn't ask what their monthly rate is but I'm sure you could get some kind of discount.

It's only a small hotel room but it's nice and has decent internet and is walking distance to beach/serendipity road and across the street from Golden Island Casino.

There are casinos all over snooky but only 2 have poker games atm... Queenco have a $0.50 - $0.50 and $0.50 - $1 game, starts around 1-2pm but has been finishing earlyish.. Fortuna have a $1 - 2 game, starting around 7-8, not sure when they finish... ^^

River King is running again, was told they have 1 - 2 -4 and some 5-10, which starts early... Naga have 1-2 and rarely 2-5 starting around 8...

There is also a smaller game $0.20 - $0.20 I think which plays deep at Red Fox on st 136

Moving from the US to snooky in about a week.

Do I only need a lease to open a bank account? Is Charlie still someone that I could talk to about that?

Is Skrill still the go to for deposits and withdrawals? Can you fund skrill with Cambodian banks? I remember a post about Acleda declining moneybookers for being a gambling site. Could I just fund skrill with my bank from the US? Is it important to have either my US address or my Cambodian address on my skrill account?

What type of players am I looking at? I was told to stay away from Poipet poker rooms.
Also I want to try some good food in the area, if there is any...

Rriverking games run around noon.
Lots of active players, reload constantly, soft.
Once in a while the big game runs and. Yeah you want to jump in.
Pretty much a social hangout to eat free drink free and win money of players.

Probably going to Sihanoukville in a couple of month.

Wondering if I can rent apartments shortterm (1 month) or is it more like in thailand where you always have those 6 month+ contracts?

Dont want some hotelroom like, would apartment with kitchen etc.

Thanks!
