So lets say I need to get something in the mail. I can't send it to my apt because I don't even know what my exact address is or if there is even mailbox here. Whats the best way to receive this mail?

Had a letter sent to me from Germany to my hotel and it went through^
I'd go over and tell them you need to recieve an important letter or whatever it is that you so desperately need that can only be found in Chicago.

Correct - It was open just before the WPT Thailand - not sure if they had a plan to host games during a full year.

Shark Good Luck.

If I ever had anything sent again to PP I would go to the main Post Office first and don't look into the room where the mail is kept. Just ask and speak to one of the Mail deliverers? and ask what is the best. I think I took some pics of the mail room they are unreal.

In my opinion I would have it stand out as in Shape and Colour and get it held at the Post Office, Pay extra for the tracking etc.

I had Citibank send my Card Priority Paid and to my Hotel and met the guy at the P.O. that delivers or organizes delivery to that area and it was like talking to a brick wall.

My Hotel staff smiled when I asked them to keep an eye out for it and basically hinted that it wouldn't arrive.

I was offered the manager's position when the WPT was scheduled in Poipet at the Holiday Casino. I went there beforehand to scout the room and there were zero cash games. They obviously got some during the event, but they disappeared as soon as the series was over. I ended up turning the job down, but one of the conditions of my employment was that I had to recruit four house players. I imagine that this is the only way a cash game can develop there.

Ran into the masturbating girl again and brought her back home for round two. Apparently I had been in her bar a few times in the last month and didn't recognize her. She feigned anger but she got over it pretty quickly. Same deal as before, two shots at her and she woke me up again in between helping herself. I found out she has two kids and is thirty one years old. Older girls tends to be more fun and this one looked young for her age anyway so I had no complaints. It was my day off so I took her out to lunch then headed into work just to check in. I've been crushing souls in the holdem game lately so all in all it's been a good couple of weeks.

My thai GF is worry about what she read in Thai on they internet but (I cannot find any info regarding that in english). We want to cross Cambodia (Poipet) and head to Phnom Penh with the ordinary/business visa made at the border and then extend it for a year. She told me that they will ask her medical record along as many other thing at the border before giving ordinary visa, but I cannot find any info in english on google that support that they will (or what they will ask). The only thing I found out is that they like to check thai luggage because many Thai try to in and out with commercial goods to resell. HELP! Thx! p.s: Also, if we use a agent, will it be hard for my GF to extend the ordinary visa to 1 year?

p.s: Also, do they give ordinary/business visa at the Pailin (ban packard) border? I heard conflicting info about this, they give tourist vsia but do they give ordinary/business visa?

Instead of packing up and moving everything you own to somewhere you've never been before, why don't you both fly to PP and start the visa process that way, then meet your agent and have him/her show you some neighborhoods and get a feel for the city.
Kind of weird to have to give the above advice.
Your gf would be happier in Vientiane. Similar language and culture

We're selling everything, last 2 days we sold 80% of what's inside the house (it came unfurnished).

I'm moving because Stars is dying and I don't want to grind online between 12 and 8 am..., i'm gonna try my luck with the casino/poker room in PP.

I have been to Vientiane several time (boring), and PP once. There is no way i'm staying in Thailand anymore, I need a city with casino... there is not many option in SEA, Manille food is horrible, Macao is expensive, etc.

I don't understand what's weird about my question relative to thai citizen crossing to Cambodia.

Ok then I misinterpreted your post. Sounded like you were packing up and leaving.
Could be worth having the gf call the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok and ask. Should be a Thai speaker there.

Good luck with the live grind but as other people have mentioned there are a variety of games in bkk/pattaya also but I can understand getting sick of the visa thing.

Also, buy an airplane ticket. Overland sounds like it could be 20hrs of travel when all is said and done.

We did call the embassy in BKK and a automated voice started talking in Cambodian, how convenient! They don't speak thai!

It seem like I got my answer, someone told me my GF will indeed be able to get the ordinary visa at border extendable up to a year for $280 usd (multi-entry). HCMC is 4 hours bus from PP and we have never been to Vietnam! I'm getting tired of the stressful visa run because we never know when they will start crackdown and they now limit border run to twice a year via land. The visa situation in Thailand is like the poker situation on stars, it's getting worse every month!

I know they have game in BKK, but I don't really like BKK, i've live there 1 year in 2012-2013, the air/smog was terrible and some months we're too hot for me. Although i've never play the live game there i've seen some article about police crackdown when the owner don't pay them so I think it's unwise for me to try to grind the underground BKK poker scene every night. If they had made a casino in Phuket like they talk about years back I would totally go there and grind but doesn't seem like it's happening anytime soon. Maybe someone can convince me that they have non-shady and juicy game in BKK or Pattaya but I have not heard of it yet.

I have played in Nagaworld years back and even tho there we're very few rules at the table I feel safe playing there. And Riverking look also very safe from what i'm reading here.

p.s: Also, my native language is french, more people then I thought are speaking french in Phnom Penh from what i'm reading so it could be a + to get a side job/work visa, if I ever want/need it, or just to communicate better with some local.

Ya plenty of French speakers in Cambodia.
The govt in Thailand really should allow some casinos in Phuket and pattaya. They would make obscene money.

We would totally do it but we have 2 puppy dogs (both 7 months old, 9 and 10 kilos). I'm scared about their health/safety travelling via plane. If someone can share their experience we would maybe consider this option.

It's more then 20 hours . 12 hours of *train from hell* (third class from CM to BKK, they don't accept dogs in other class). After that around 5h to get from BKK to Aranyapraphet via train. Then the annoying as **** Poipet border and to finish a 7 hours taxi ride to Phnom Penh (around 100-120$ usd for the taxi, not bad!).

Overall around 24 hours + Poipet border + waiting time between transportation! I think we will sleep in Aranyapraphet cause i've heard it can take up to 4 hours to pass Poipet border if you don't arrive early morning.

I'm open to suggestion!

Check if Bangkok airways has a PP flight. They're the most civilized and may let you keep the dogs with you for the flight. Or Thai airways.
If by land I'd say try to get a minivan from bkk to the border, will save you an hour or 2. Good idea to break up the trip and stay in a hotel somewhere along the way.

3rd class seats from CM to BKK sounds like true hell.

It's almost midnight here and I'm still flooring over the $5-$5 PLO game. I really wish more people had the bankroll to play this game because the lineup is that good; wish I had the bankroll for it. Probably no debaucherous chicanery tonight but I told one of the players I would take him to the infamous Cyrcee tomorrow night. Had a fun night yesterday though as I got one of my regulars for a quick session. Pretty standard though as we didn't do anything unusual and I was still able to finish while fully covered. Any night where I can complete the act under an hour while wearing a raincoat is a good one. No pics though. I almost got out the camera but I was pretty eager to get at it last night.

Approaching 1:00 AM and there was just a massive pot in the $5-$5 PLO game where a set of tens took it down on a king high, three club board. The other player showed top two with KT. He actually covered the other player but is down to his last $600 or so. God I wish I could stream this on twitch.

Edit: it only took two hands for the player down to his last $600 to double up. We've got a game again.

The room's accountant just asked me if I wanted to marry a Khmer girl, continuing a conversation from last week during which I asked him how much of a dowry I would have to give a Khmer family for marrying their daughter. I told him I did want to marry a local girl, but eventually and not just yet. My financial situation would have to be a lot better before I even considered marriage. Still, I wonder if he had someone particular in mind.

Apparently, running late night games result in constant updates and random thoughts.

So how much did he tell you it would cost/have to give the family?

He told me for a girl from a poor family $2,000 to $3,000, $4,000 to $5,000 for a girl from a medium income family and up to $10,000 for a girl from a rich family. In all cases the bulk of the money would be used for the wedding and that in the case of the first two categories I would probably need to send the girl's family money on a monthly basis anywhere from $100 to $300. With the rich family, I would probably receive benefit from them in the form of land or a job/position with the family business. I don't think any of this is a hard and fast rule, but rather a general construct. I'm sure a lot of this is changing as Cambodia becomes more modern, but many often forget that most of this country is still rural countryside. But I'm just guessing here which is why I asked him in the first place.
