Why do you guys prefer cambodia over thailand?
I don't know why but I got an urge to go there but I know thailand is better..
I don't think you get away that much cheaper than you can in thailand either except when it comes to the beer right? So casinois the only reason I can think of, what other reasons to stay in cambodia over thailand?

Probably only casino's which is a terrible distraction and visas apart from that Thailand wins.

But also Cambodia is actually much cheaper for beer and hookers, which is a significant percentage of the budget for most people who live in Cambodia.

Hookers:

BKK: Expect to pay 1500-2000 baht short time

Cambodia is a decent option for micro stakes grinders and people just looking to degen as much as possible for the cheapest price.

Freedom of weed usage can be added to that list for those who find it important.

Many can argue Cambos are much nicer and have other positive qualities over Thais.

A lot of expats don't prefer Cambo. They are only there because you can work, and the other reasons people said, like visas. Many would move to Thailand in a flash, if they could find work there.

Did you not prefer the food, infrastructure, modern amenities, lack of sewage smell, dating opportunities, better accommodation, lack of kids begging on the street, running after you shouting " hungry" etc? Going from Cambo to Thailand is like stepping out of the third world, and into the first world. There is something I like about PP, but I don't see it through rose tinted glasses.

I prefer everything u list, but Id much rather live in Cambo than TL any day.

Maybe if u focus on the hookers that is what you will get, but if you can develop relationships with university girls they will give it up, but you need to be there longer than a week or so and not be total foreign d-bag. You also may not get it on the first date, but if u can wait a few weeks the riches are there. Also need to broaden your horizons on things u are doing there and get more involved in the different scenes besides hanging out at Poonton or in the calle.

Even the bar girls are a pain in the arse in cambo some only work for ld like wtf, they only tell you once you've bought a few ld's and want to bar fine them. The other end of the spectrum is there raging ice heads smoking pipes in your bathroom ffs.

Your story may be different if u lived there, developed real relationships, did business or worked there and stayed out of places with bar girls.

thai food is better than khmer food obv but i found western food way overpriced in thailand (pattaya)

i think "dating" opportunities are a lil better in thailand but i would still think any thai girl that is going with you is at the least a gold digger (not always true, but safe assumption)

guess there weren't as many beggars in thailand

i will also say another perk to thailand is that you have decent hospitals around if something bad happens

I have no idea about dating sites in Cambo, never looked or tried.

Go to a university and u will find a zillion non-hookers. Find a reason to be there, be creative.

As for jobs my experience has been as an educator and working with non-profits, yes its true there are limited types of jobs in Cambo for expats, but you need to hustle if you want beyond hookers and iceheads. You need to put yourself in the path of the decent girls, they will appear in droves.

But maybe it doesnt matter if u expect to appear in a country for one week and have a bunch of good girls lined up. You will just fall into the same pattern of banging bar girls or whatever, u need to spend more time, at least a month.

I think Cambo is a great place to date as I personally can land and within a few days have a girl who is working hard at school or work but since Ive lived abroad for so many I know how to "operate" in a foreign country.

Ive spent over a year in Cambo on and off when I lived in Taiwan and worked on projects within the locals and every university I went to I got the rock star treatment and dated quite a few girls who went to school. Sorry if I try a little to hard by actually putting time and sifting for gold, but Im not an sexpat who has no creativity.

great has to be hyperbole here, the language barrier alone is enough to make it not great, and the fact that the women there are very conservative (and far less horny/sexual than other girls) makes it nowhere near close to great

im sure if you put in the effort and are involved in the local scene you can get some, but dating girls for weeks before you get anything while they think it may lead them out of poverty isn't exactly "great"
