Hello all,

Grindhouse Chiang Mai offers modern, spacious and comfortable rooms with wifi and cable internet access in a 3 bedroom brand new house in the north of the city Chiang Mai, Thailand. Every room has individual air conditioning and en suite bathroom. The house is located on walking distance from Meechok plaza where you can find multiple coffee shops, breakfast/lunch places, restaurants and a gigantic supermarket and much more.

What do we have to offer?
The houses are brand new with a living room, kitchen and private bathrooms and are equipped with everything you'll need. They just finished building the houses and we will be the first renters - so you will sleep in brand new 2 person beds and grind on new working chairs with the quickest and most stable Internet available. We will also provide backup Internet if required. Each bedroom has their own private bathroom.

The houses are identical and located just next to each other, so you can have your privacy when you need it but you can also have fun with the others. Each house has three bedrooms, one downstairs and two upstairs. Check out the pictures to see what the houses look like. The big bedroom at the front of the house has a balcony and the one at the back of the house is the biggest of all 3 bedrooms and has an bathtub. The bedroom downstairs is a little bit smaller than the bedrooms upstairs.

Each bedroom also will have a lock on the door, to provide some more privacy. Also each bedroom is equipped with air conditioning in order to provide a comfortable sleeping temperature, The outside temperature typically is 25-30 degrees Celsius during daytime and around 20-25 Celsius at night.

You could also order food from several high quality restaurants through a website that bundles their menus and order (healthy) food to your doorstep for a small fee.

We do expect to have a social and relaxed vibe with a lot of good poker players from different countries in the house with knowledge of NL/PLO 6max, HU, HU hypers, HU sngs, MTT or any other poker format. We will try our best in screening all roommates, so you will be sure to be surrounded with legit people with positive intentions.

We could offer live coaching sessions by one of the roommates for the following games;
-HU hupers
-HU sngs,
-HU Cash
-6max/fr up to 200 or 400nl.
- PLO in the near future

Besides getting coached by another roommate, Living with such a variety of solid poker players you will most likely improve your game a lot! - since we will definitely talk lots of poker and help each other out with their own game and/or other (mental) aspects of the game. There might also be some possibilities to getting staked or stake other players in the house. This all is open for debate and should be arranged by the players living in the houses themself, we could of course help you out with that.

Furthermore there is a lot to do besides grinding in Chiang Mai.
For example; going to town for drinks, visit the famous animal parks with monkeys, crocodiles, tigers or even riding on an elephant. Chiang Mai also has a mountain called; Doi Suthep with a 700 year old breathtaking temple on top of it. Play sports with others or go to gym, enjoy the nightlife or just relax and play a game after a grind session.

Besides grinding hard and working on your game, we are also try to plan in some nice trips to other parts of the country or continent. We are definitely going to the Full moon party on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan which is known worldwide known for their crazy monthly “Full moon party” on the beach of the Island.

Where is the house located?
The three houses are located next to each other in a friendly and quiet neighborhood about 2km from the super highway, 6 KM from city center and at about 30 minutes by car from Chiang Mai airport

There is a small gym with a swimming pool in the street at a few hundred meters from the house, it's 3$ for a day, and a subscription for every day is 30$ per month.

At a few minutes from the houses there is a big shopping mall with a large supermarket called Tesco Lotus which has everything that you might need (including screens, speaker systems etc.). The mall also houses several coffee shops for lunch or breakfast, a market called Ruamchok for cheap food, about 15 restaurants and a big gym with personal trainers, lots of machines, dumbbells and many other facilities.

It’s a 15-20 drive per scooter, depending on traffic, to Nimman road where many lunch and lounge spots, restaurants, nightclubs and many other spots are located. Some other clubs and bars are also nearby.
We are looking into getting some bikes, that we will rent out for a great price.
It shouldn’t be problem if you have not driven a motorbike before, you will be able to test and practice on our bikes before heading out in traffic.

What will it cost me?
You can reserve for a minimum of one month up to 12 months. You can join us from the 1st of November 2013. If you want to join us at the 1st of November please let us know asap. We prefer to start rent at the 1st of each month

The price for a room is:

18k baht downstairs
19k baht upstairs

That is around 400-450 Euro a month. We also require a deposit of 1 month of rent, this will be returned once your leaving
This price includes all other costs like unlimited wifi / cable Internet, cleaning, gas, electricity and water.
We will be flexible with future rent payments and these could be done via Pokerstars, Skrill EUR or USD, Neteller, Bank account or in cash.

We would like to note that we charge a small markup, since we locked the houses down for a year, so we need to calculate the risk of vacancy into the price. We do like to think we charging a fair price and are offering good value!

If you are not in Thailand yet we do recommend to book a ticket to Bangkok first and then a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai airport. The flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is approximate 1 hour.

hey guys, all the rooms are full for November. Half of us has moved in and few others are arriving in the next couple of days. So far we know that one room will open up around christmas because one of us is heading back to Europe to visit family.

We just started so its hard to answer how long people like to stay. Maybe its a few months or maybe everyone like it so much that they want to stay 6+ months. I think the current group will stay for in avg for a couple of months with us. One guy said he will stay forever .

People are free in how long they want to stay, if they let us know in advance and if we think they fit good in the group. The social part and a good group vibe is very importent for us. Several interested people told us that they will be coming in the months january, february or later and we will try to fit everything in.

So you can reserve a room but for now we can't garantuee a room. It is the best to be available and once a room opens up we contact you and you can fly down. Or come to Chiang Mai, stay in a condo until a room opens up

hehe, he told us today that even other UK speakers coudlnt understand him sometimes. He has a sick accent. I have to say I can understand him better than a few days ago. Within a week no more accent!

When I first moved away from Liverpool back in 2005 all I would get was blank looks with lots of nodding and smiling whenever I would speak. Started speaking slower and using less slang, it worked too well as now whenever I go home to visit friends and family if I start speaking to a random they don't believe I am a Scouser

Cheers for the reply, I figured you wouldn't be able to guarantee anything as obv those people who are already living in the house would have priority if they want to stay longer. I will wait until the new year and once I know for sure where I will be heading next and then hopefully we can have a proper chat and see what is going on in the house at that time.
