Hi guys,
Looking to go to Canada next year with my girlfriend, but having some major visa issues at her end.
On the website the eligibility criteria is;

However, when we fill in the form, we get this message;

Anyone got any ideas on why this happens? or any hints on how to get her there ha? she'd need to work really whilst out there.

How can we possibly answer this without knowing her answers?

I mean she fulfills the criteria stated in pic 1, and answered thus. We've tried tweaking the answers and always get rejected for some reason. Was more wondering if someone had a better idea how the system worked and why a seemingly 'eligible' candidate, cant even get through step 1 of the scheme.
Or if there was any kind of work around.

I can't imagine you will get help here. Best thing is to call someone to speak to about it.

Have you tried putting answers that would make her the model candidate? i.e. young / tons of work experience / education in a desired area / money in the bank / no health issues etc.?

If the model candidate gets rejected maybe it's just a bug in the website, or maybe they don't want so many people applying for this visa so although she would be accepted they throw out a false failure to discourage people from applying.

I'm Canadian.

Went it come to coming to Canada and work, we are #1 pain in they ass country in the world. This is very difficult for any foreigner to come to Canada to work, even if you're from a rich country.

What I suggest is: Come to Canada with a return ticket (some website will buy return ticket for you and charge only $15-20, then they will cancel it 24 hours after you land, so u're already in the country doing ur thing. I've done it many times, it's legit and you feel at ease if some random country ask for onward flight.

Then, she will be able to work illegally (don't apply for work visa, it's a hassle, take forever and it's bull****), and it doesn't really matter if she has diploma cause diploma from other country mean nothing went you enter Canada (equivalent doesn't exist here, need to get back to school even if ur a doctor in ur country). So she's not gonna have better salary if she has paper saying she can work legally. So it's better if she get paid under the table. Went you leave Canada to go back England after let's say 6 months, if they ask how you we're able to pay, well just tell them you had save money in UK for that trip, they can't do much at this point.

I've done it many times (booking return ticket and some online website cancel it for me), it work, you just need a return ticket..., like let's say you arrive february 1, get a return ticket for february 14, and then cancel it under 48 hours went you pass immigration (some website will book ur ticket and cancel it for you, for like $20 usd, easy).

This option look risky, but getting a temporary work permit is even more risky, just because it's a hassle, can take months to get and you won't get a better salary if you go that road.

Yeah tried making her model candidate, still failure. The only way we could get accepted was to say we were on some kind of university scheme.

Interesting idea, will definitely consider it. She would only be working in bars etc anyway to fund a ski season, but I was under the impression that they would all ask for the work permit still?

Tried this, embassy was absolute rot, gave us no reason whatsoever and just told us to use the website. This was more of a shot in the dark thing to be honest.

In that case I think she would probably get it if she applied, and the website is bugged/throwing a false failure. There is no doubt a reciprocal agreement with Canadians getting WH visas for UK so they can't just reject people if they fulfill the criteria, or UK would start doing the same. Just my 2 cents, I am not an expert lol.

An expats forum for people living in Canada would probably be a better place for advice than here. Good luck.

Is your girlfriend by any chance eligible for an Irish passport? Way more visas get granted to ROI holders than UK iirc.

We are finally in the draw!!
It turns out that where it says passport, there is an option British Citizen, whereas we had been clicking United Kingdom. For some reason, this made a big difference and we are now in!
