Speaking of banks, a pretty standard question that i should probably know but how do people do it here for money. The best way is to take out larger sums from ATM, how large is too large? I guess i can just take out like 10-20k bath and keep alot of it in security box in my room. Is it possible to dodge the 150 bath fee from some atms or does everything have that?

you can take 30k at a time from the yellow ATMs. best way to avoid fees is to open a bank account here and wire the money in

so if you have to pay taxes for your income and you dont it makes it ok if you just let your bank to screw you for fees? awesome logic

why not just try to minimize the fees banks take too at the same time?

today i made a deposit on partypoker with moneybookers using the same vpn ive used various times in thailand, but this time my moneybookers account got blocked. i cant send money and the worst is my creditcard is blocked as well.
they requested a scan of ID, which i have of course, and a scan of a recent bill proving my home adress, which i obv. dont have.
whats my line here? ive wrote them an email trying to explain that i depend on mt moneybookers card, that i dont have a bill atm, and send them the ID scan. I obv left out the part that im in thailand and been using VPNs. has anyone ever told them they used VPN (afaik pokerstars doesnt mind it the first time u did it and only gives a warning), what should i say if they ask me, its kinda obv. since im always using thai ATMs with the card and then have european IPs when making payments. any help/experience? thanks!

i told MB and party both straight up what i am doing. I used to deposit using teamviewer on my computer back in finland. neither had any problems with that

When i applied for MB VIP they made me do the proof of address again. I tried to explain i cant get any scans since i live here now but they didnt really care so i had to have my parents scans some of my mail that was sent to that address. so i guess there isnt a way around that (atleast i dont know any)

stars to kasikorn works fine, ive made like 3 wires each taking 3-4 days tops.

the exchange rate has dipped though during the last wire ;(

theres a kasikorn across the street from my condo , and it took me about 20 minutes to setup(got my debit card in that time also)

good bank imo

i hear the other banks are just as good but same may be harder to open one up with if you dont have a visa.

anyone use the gym at Dream hotel in BKK? .... if so how is it, specifically what do they have for free weights. ty.

also anyone have a legit recommendation for a tailor? reading thaivisa and most ppl are bigging up Rajawongse Tailors on Suk Soi 4 & Siam Emporium on Suk Soi 8.

Not looking for a suit, just a couple of custom shirts. Wouldn't mind picking up a couple shirts if they're good value and then waiving the bag of goodies and giving out a nice DX crotch chop to all of the suit hustlers standing outside their stores.

Conveniently my tailor rec is also on Soi 15: St. Marco. Don't let him charge you more than 500 Baht for shirts. Great tailor.

ok cool ty. His website says 24-49 for a custom shirt which is more like 750-1500 baht.

Do you pay 500 baht when you buy multiple shirts or even a single?

He makes me haggle every time. I think he always starts at 750ish. And every time I get him to the 500 range. If just one shirt maybe give him 600 to be nice or something but don't pay anything close to 1,500 or even 1,000.
