Look at the news in Europe, all the people dying are old people with chronic illness. So unless you or a member of your family have chronic illness, you shouldn't not worry about this virus. But the economic chitstorm that is happening right now because of the pandemic, that's an other story..

I have a trip to Phuket planned on Sunday until Wednesday, what can happen if virus goes on level 3 and airports are shut down while I'm there? It's not something you want to get but 1/2 seriously, the air pollution in Chiang Mai right now may be worse for your lungs than covid.

bottom line, regardless of the odds, this is not something you should be casual about whether or not you get it

I don't worry about dying either, but spending 3 weeks in the hospital ICU is neither fun or cheap. Even if you have an awesome health insurance, there is a good chance that it will cost you $XX,XXX.

If you have just a normal insurance in a non third world country (# US) you pay ~0$.

Even if only old people die there is nowhere to put all the bodies. This is already happening in Italy.

If you get some other serious health problem, or a car wreck, right now in Italy or Spain, sorry there are no intensive care beds or ventilators available, you will have to get in line and wait until a few people die.
