Bourbon st on ekkamai has a buffet for about 1k that is solid, and they have deep fried turkey thats really good. I also went to great american rib co and it was ok too- a good option if you go at 6pm as bourbon st will be packed at peak hours.

Only place I've ever been asked for an onward ticket out of BKK was at ICN Airport in Korea (and that was by the airline, just covering their asses)

The only time I have ever been asked was also by Air Korea, I had to sign a form saying that they are not responsible for me if I am not allowed into Thailand.

Is anyone interested in Pokerstars $ for Thai Baht? I need to have a fairly big minimum balance in my bank for the thai marriage visa...this wasn't going to be a problem until pokerstars cancelled the option for bank wires and then checks without any notice for us in Thailand.

I opened up a skrill account but I made the mistake of choosing Thai baht as the currency thinking that would be best for cashouts...I found out after as some of you guys suggested that it should be Euros to best avoid FX fees. I'm not sure how much time it's going to take for me to open up/change/verify a new skrill account and the deadline for the marriage visa is approaching.

Anyone interested? I'd be fine with a small vig, can meet in a bank or something like that to do the transfer?

Can somebody clarify about the changes to the Skrill ATM card.

Does it mean we can't use the card here any longer, or is it only countries outside of the list that can't apply for one, whereas we can still get one from Europe/US/AUS and use it anywhere?

I don't know if you saw but there is a thread about that in the Internet Poker (here). I guess you can not use your mastercard any longer unless you have an european, russian or chinese address in your Neteller/Skrill account.

It depends when exactly you'll be there and how you react to the smoke. Some people aren't much affected, other can have a lot of problems with it.
Also some days it's ok and other it can be terrible and you can't see further than 100 meters. Last year was pretty bad and it lasted for long.


Full moon is fun butnot a must to do.

Hi guys, new poster here, I am an American arriving in BKK next week and was wondering if anyone has a trusted Thai friend or co-worker they could recommend as a hired "guide" for a day or two. I don't mean a tour guide, I mean someone who can help me negotiate an apartment, a mobile phone plan, perhaps a bank account, motorbike, desk at a co-working space, etc. I believe things will go a lot smoother with a native Thai resident to help negotiate and translate for me.
