How much more expensive is Thailand in high season? Food in restaurants? Drinks in bars/clubs?Apartments/guesthouses for rent on a monthly basis? Food in supermarkets?

Yeah you hurt my feelings by making insecure, weapons grade ****** posts on the internet about how going out alone makes you feel like a weirdo

As the poster above said you will need an expat circle of friends. That is easier said than done as most are drinking buddies at best, and because you don't know anyone you'll quickly accept them to be your friends.

Good post sir!

Some of you guys need to aim higher and meet better farang friends imo. Most of the poker guys I hang out with are perfectly normal, socially adjusted, fiscally responsible, entrepeneurial young guys with no void in their lives.

You never met him, he's actually quite normal. Everything gets blown out of proportion on the internet, we all become broke weirdo rapists who only come here for submissive women.

Confirm what jspil says about hanging out with and making better farang friends. I only surround myself with hardcore gangsters and BIG business people.

Occasionally i'll do a guest appearance and meet a few 2+2ers for a drink, but thats about it.

I wanna get a triple entry visa. When I apply for it, can I book a return flight if i want? Or If I book a single flight.. does it matter at what date i book a flight out of thailand?
Also, is it recommended to get a new passport if i have old visas for thailand in it? or it doesnt matter?

You don't need a return ticket to get a visa.

When I applied for a triple entry the second time I got rejected because I had already gotten one once. This was at the consulate in my home country. It seemed a bit like it was up to the discretion of the officer there so your mileage may vary.

I can buy all of that but the last part.

You clearly have a void in your life Jspill, stop painting like your life is fulfilled.

You're basically the same as LOL69 but more intelligent, educated, likable, less hypocritical, less slimy.

Your void is still huge though...

Is this^^^ the low level sniping that BGP has been saying makes the forum worse?

I read that you need a bank statement of at least 200 000 baht when u apply for multiple entrty visa, I never experienced to show bank statement before , even for triple entry? Is this right?
It says they also need an employment certificate in English lol?

Depends on the country and consulate, yes in some (some parts of europe) no in others (australia, some usa/canada consulates). Standard Thai randomness

I see
Its pretty ridiculous imo that u need to have had 200k in your account for the past 6 months just to get a tourist visa.
Guess i'll get a 60 days visa then plus 30, then i can get a new 60 plus 30 days visa in vientiane or something

you dont need 200k to get normal tourist visa. u need 200k to get multiply entries tourist visa. lots of people work illegaly in thailand and now they want some proof that you dont go to thailand to work if you go for long time. i dont think 200k should be problem for poker players. i just transfered 200k few days before i applied for visa.

decided gna take a week in thailand (before probably manila, unless i like bkk too much)....

is there any reason to not choose air india? its £236, 1 stop and 16hours which just seems super cheap

can people give me some list of bars in bangkok. Im not really into gogo's all that much, unless its last thing at night and im wasted. (gogo with pool table would be nice though) and usually play pool quite a bit and watch football sooo...

sportsbar similar to h&j? i know theres sportman on soi 13 which is decent but another would be good
bar similar LAC/Gpoint with pool table
and preferable a "local" bar. just something different

what area best place to look for hotel?

Not really. In both cases you're being required to provide evidence that you have sufficient financial funds to both, have enough to cover all the costs of your visit to the country and then also enough to leave and fly elsewhere once that visit is it.

I'm aware that wealthier countries apply this practice more strictly towards those coming from poorer countries than poorer countries do towards those coming from wealthier countries and in theory that makes sense. But in reality there have been/are many busto expats entering and living in Thailand, and so it's not absurd for the Thais to implement the practice themselves. When they do it's, more or less, for the same reasons the USA implements it on those traveling from SEA.
