Just buy it off silkroad, street quality is nothing compared to what you can get from there.

A reminder to tourists that you shouldn't go near rally sites. Last night, two motorists took a wrong turn & were shot at by PDRC guards.

so just stay away from asoke, siam sqaure, ratchaprasong, lumpini park, silom and surawong. gotcha! it's safe apart from that. oh, and you'll be mightily inconvenienced if you are in any of those areas.

and that's now. forget about a month from now when yingluck forms government.

why bother when you have so many places in the region offering the same or similar thing to bangkok (and cheaper).

increased risk from minimal to minimal+1 doesnt mean that it is all of a sudden dangerous.
there are so many other risks in south east asia to worry about before you should worry about being beaten to death by an angry mob.
like for example being anywhere near a road in a vehicle of any sort is at least 1000x more likely to cause you harm. so why worry about increases in some risks when they are negligible compared to all other risks that you expose yourself to?
just because something changes doesn't make it important, only that it is interesting to report for media, since they can not report everyday that 20,000-30,000 people die in thai traffic every year because no one would read it since it is constant.

ITT people who rawdog beach road hookers and ladyboys worry about how dangerous bangkok is with protests in a few small areas.

I guess I can understand- after rawdogging as long as you take a shower you cant get aids, but no shower will get the sound of those damn whistles out of your head

It's not the danger so much as it's gonna be a pretty crappy place to visit as a tourist in the next few months if services shut down due to protests. For someone thinking of planning a holiday in SE Asia in that time, there are plenty of options other than Bangkok.

Oh there are protests? Aside from a love parade march down thong lor last month I haven't noticed a thing.

Unless the protests become worse there's no reason to avoid BKK at the moment. Every service working just fine.

Don't know about the internet nowadays. But with an internetstick you always have a reliable option to grind. Costs about 800 (you can buy one in the Tesco in Chaweng oposite the Cashier), 1GB/1month for about 400.
Always depending on how much you currently have to pay for the rent, I definitely can recommend Arisara, Bangrakgardenhome (shouldn't be much more than 20k/month).
