I just created a winner poker account with a nice rakeback deal, using the 3G from true move and a 2GB plan/month.
As soon as i open the lobby of winner poker, it uses data so much, i was at 50MB download in about 7min of keeping the lobby open.
When i use unibet, i use like only 7-10MB for 2hours playing.
I know some of u play at ipoker here in thailand. U guys have this too with winner poker or other room it uses so much data?

I play on the same site, I think your right come to think of it, sometimes my internet gets laggy, all other sites during this laggy period work fine, ipoker, just cuts out. With your information I guess because its just not DL enough data thus the cut out. Dont think there is a work to getting it to take less MB while your playing.

Anyone got any recs for Koh Samet?

Nicest beach to stay and hotel for preferably no more than 1500? I know it's not cheap there so will pay more if I have to.

i think my visa problems have all been fixed..yesterday i went to the local disrict police station to teach around 30 of them to speak scots english. Was pretty good fun and obv after scoffed some whiskey.

I think they needed pics with farrang to show the government. Anyway the chief inpsector was asking if i would be interested in a part time job to help the police with any foreigner issues.

Surely i will beable to gte some kind of visa for this. Can any1 tell me what the best visa to ask for is?

That's because you are exhibit A in the list of stupid trolls who have destroyed this thread for their own amusement. What used to be one of the best places on the internet to come to for information on Thailand has become an entertainment venue for attention seeking morons.

yeah we really are argueing about what place is best

personally i would hate to stay in such a touristy place like phuket for loads of reasons. Would choose samui to live for sure. The thai people in phuket are mostly *******s most likely a large portion of foreigners are too. The people in samui seem really nice from my brief time there.

Pattaya shouldn't be in the arguement though coz thats a 4 day detination place to get hammered and degen as much as possible.

needless to say it's peronal preference.

By part time job he probably means becoming a tourist police 'volunteer' aka brown nosed little snitching tosser who was most likely bullied at school and cant get off doing neighborhood watch rounds in the uk anymore.

I think they have to do x amount of hours for free, to get monthly extensions.

I would bet my hands PR is not on offer or ever will be at anytime for someone taking this. It is about the hardest thing a foreigner can get status wise here, the requirements are beyond ridic even if you are paying hefty hefty bribes to make it happen, and we are talking in the mills of baht.

lol pooter thats a tad harsh!

But nah it's coz they have government officials coming here in 2 years and they have been told to bring a foreigner in to teach them some english and help with them dealing with foreigner interaction and setting up some procedures and possibly use my IT background to help them. This isn't a tourist area at all so the type of role your reffering to doesnt apply.

Yeah i know how hard it is to get PR here but doing a role like that in a place with very few farrang probably would give me a decent chance. Early days but see what happens. Anyway i'm not that bothered about PR as i stay so close to lao anyway so visa runs are easy.

Yo Billygstar,

even im not well inform or had much any contacts in Thailand,
i would suggest gg for the part time work they given you.

you might not know in the future if you need them ?

anyway, just my opinion !

Indeed having that experience and making a few high up police friends would defiantly help with applying for a PR as in they could write you a nice letter of recommendation to go along with your application and document your help with them.

but before you can even apply you need to live in Thailand for 3 solid years on a non-im visa plus speak read and write Thai, plus a whole lot of other **** too.

I am not saying its impossible but ****ing hard to get.

I personally think anyone that comes to Thailand and becomes a police volunteer is a ****. They make me sick in Pattaya running around like they are important kissing the thais ares, not realizing the thai's are loling at them, submissive little pricks they are.

They do it for their own ego if you really wanted to give your time to helping/volunteering there a a million better ways to do it in Thailand for people who need it so much more than the WS police.

heya

Yeah thats about as good of a reason as anything for me. Just to have family and friends in the police here is a comfort. As you say you never know what kind of issues might come up. Can't be bad for business either.

Yeah i didn't even know farrang to that kind of work but as i said this isn't like that at all. I can imagine though some of these guys being knob ends ha
Your saying though that ppl actually come to thailand to do volunteer police work? sounds odd.

I'm not even bothered about getting paid for w/e job i do for them coz the pay would be minimal. At 1st i didn't really fancy it but did it coz misses uncle asked me to and i sometimes drink with some of them i couldnt really say no.

Ofcourse their are much better causes out there lol. I would be doing it for aelfish reasons more than helping out the police. As i said it may not come to more than the odd teaching course to get them prepared as there a very few farrang here anyway.

I think you should do it. Nothing wrong with that, very big difference between what you would be doing and what a volunteer police officer does.
