I'm looking to book a flight for Jan 2013. I'm wondering whether to buy one way or return. Here's some factors:

- I have nothing concrete to return for, though I'm possibly looking to start a Masters in Sep 2013.

- There's a chance I may go to Australia after being in SE Asia, and be staying there for a year or so on a working visa so I won't be returning from the same airport I flew into.

- Being flexible with times and departure airports is kind of important to me.

So I guess what it boils down to is this:

How much is saved by buying a return ticket? How easy is it to change the dates on a return ticket? What if you want to return later than one year from your outbound flight, is this possible? Can you change where you fly back from?

The prices for one-way flights seem to be in the £350ish region, which seems pretty damn decent.

get a one way, you will only save around £100-150 tops if you get a return.

Agreed. If he's aware she has an ulterior motive and has been completely upfront about not giving her money then bang away. If one day she asks for money and starts getting angry or agitated when he refuses then I'd prob give her 1k just to avoid a problem and then move on and not see her again.

I'd say the guys that should be most careful of this are the ones who fall for girls easily, especially if they are noobs to the game, and the girls know that.

Those are the guys that could be in a world of financial pain down the line if they are not careful.

Someone earlier was asking about Hua Hin. Checking out Hua Hin this week. Never heard anyone talk about it here. Good spot, bad crowd. Its mostly 5 star resorts lined up along the water, with generally older euros and presumably wealthy thais.

Beach is probably so-so by thai standards(im just going by photos of others, havent been), and if you arent staying in a 5 star you have a 5-10minute walk to get to it. Markets are pretty sweet, but I'm fascinated by markets. If I had a kitchen to cook in here I'd be in heaven with all the cheap seafood available. Restaurants / accommodations are more pricey. For nightlife, There's a row of bars I haven't checked out that are supposed to be pretty tame, and a disco at the hilton that I may check out tonight as I like taking a crack at tourist girls.

For me its a great spot for grinding. Everything I need close by, nice pool at hotel, beach for the days I want to make the trek and not too much of a social scene to get me in trouble. My body was in rough shape after Bangkok. When I'm hanging around hot broads I drink like fish and after 4 days I was toast. Feeling great now and putting in the hours.

I'd be happy to stay here longer. but I'm sure there's better. From the sounds of it you guys are spending a lot less than me, and probably staying in nicer places. I need to settle in one spot. that will probably be samui next week

a heads up for americans reading this advice, that it does not apply to them. one way tickets are sometimes more expensive than round trip from the US, and 90% of the time a round trip ticket costs about the same as a one way flight.

also, depending on the airline, you can change the return date for a reasonable fee. if you live near enough to canada to fly out of america's hat, you can often save on airfare by booking one way from canuckville.

paid 900 out of toronto on etihad which is a pretty sweet airline - 21 hrs total travel. you can get to t.o. from most of the east coast for under 180.

I'm hoping Spiv could help me out here. I walked 25min before workout for warm up and fat loss. Would you recommend instead motosai to gym then higher intensity cardio for increased fat loss via metabolism boost at the cost of slight muscle catabolism? If so should I negotiate the price for motosai before or after getting dropped off? Also I opted for 800ml chocolate milk post workout for 45 baht instead of in gym GNC protein shake for 100 baht. Big mistake or should I have enough amino's still releasing from my chicken Pad Ka Prow last night?
