Rabies is one of the vaccines where it's kinda a close decision...
It is expensive, and the point of the vaccine is to delay your death, not help prevent it or mitigate symptoms. Instead of ~48 hours, you have ~5 days to get to the hospital and seek proper treatment (or whatever the exact time frames are.) This would be pretty important if you are trekking through remote regions, for example, but if you're just going to the cities, I'm not sure there is a substantial benefit.
But...
Thailand is #1 in rabies and it's not even close. They are waaaay ahead of #2 country. So if you're gonna do it, Thailand is a good reason. I think most people pass on this one...
