Hello guys, I want to live in Thailand short-term. I browsed through 30 pages and only could find people arguing about how much you can live on, discussing a/c strats and hookers. I have no idea which city to pick. I'm going there to drink, bang hookers, bang non-hookers, dodge lbs, dodge hi-so girls if they look like that freak on the last page & drink. I'm planning on flying to the land of the hookers in two weeks.

You can't go wrong with Patts mate if that's what your looking for, you would probably enjoy bangkok too but its a lot more expensive there. Not stayed in that place, but it looks OK, might not be the perfect location for a first timer, you might want to consider the LK Metro area, or somewhere a little closer to walking street. Give me a budget and I'll throw you a few suggestions of places I've stayed and know are ok.

I am looking to pay 20k thb max. Location, full serviced & amenities are really important. I'm not set on either city or coast living. It doesn't really matter to me, I just want to be around all the action! Thanks for the reply!

KTK is great. Depends when you are going tho as they are fully booked for the whole of November December and January. It is great value for money tho and the location is ok for a noobie as long as you dont mind using motorcye taxis or hiring yourself a bike.

These are all serviced apartments, if you rent for 6 months you'll be able to get a normal condo also which will give you more options. The internet wont be amazing in these places but poker players have lived and grinded in most of the above so they can't be too bad.

What's your budget and what side of town do you want to be on? That will help narrow down your options!

Pattaya is amazing. I stayed 3 months in KTK ending this month, and it is very good value for money imo. Their 1 bedroom suites are solid. My only complaint is that if you rent for 1 month+, you only get housekeeping twice a week unless you pay extra. Which means you're stuck either paying extra a lot of the time, or at least paying extra for new towels daily. This is pretty minor though, overall I was very happy with KTK.
