Once the 90 days is up I believe you can leave and then reenter, using your second entry, so on and so on. So for a triple entry tourist visa you could get 270 days I guess on that visa alone.

Multiple entry visas pertain to Non Immigrant visas (ED, Employment, Retirement, etc.). If you're planning on getting a job or an ED visa shortly after you get to Thailand, a triple entry tourist visa would be a waste of an extra $40 since you might be converting your visa type before you even use your third entry.
That's a good point about the wasted third entry. I was thinking about milky my original triple entry for max 270 days then doing a Laos weekend trip and getting a new double entry issued, but I'm starting to think just going for the ed visa might be the best bet.

I know people here are saying they're still pretty soft on this (http://www.thaicongenvancouver.org/c.../visa-info.pdf) but I'd hate to end up getting perma banned, just to avoid 4hr/week in language classes (which would prob be a great and worthwhile experience anyway).

I can't believe you chose that room after all the other places you looked at with pools and gyms and nice linens. That place looks really depressing. How are you going to seduce a hi-so girl with Mickey Mouse pillows?
Not hating on you, just saying mate. Enjoying the blog and photos though.

I'm def. accounting for it...don't worry. That part is the least complicated. Just wanted to make sure I had a realistic expectation for the cost of all the fundamentals. I'll have more than enough to cover any kind of fun I want to have after the fundamentals are taken care of. I plan to visit India, Japan, Laos, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, all over Thailand itself ect with my gf using BKK as a home base. It's crazy all of these locations are thousands from Canada just for the flight. From BKK, you can book a return flight to Japan for $550!! Getting so excited.

Bad link.

Four hours a week is nothing, though. I can't imagine how that would be an imposition on anyone unless the school is all the way across town or something.

For what it's worth, you don't have to study Thai to get an ED visa. You can study any language as long as the school is registered with the Ministry of Education. Apparently, you can also get one "studying" Muay Thai:
http://www.thailandmuaythai.com/moreinfo/thai-visa.html

Beyond conversational Thai, I'm not sure how realistic it is to achieve any level of fluency (especially reading) without being in Thailand for several years. Those that live there, correct me if I'm wrong about that. If I were getting an ED visa I'd probably go for another language that's more useful like Mandarin or even Spanish, and download Pimsleur Thai and try to work on your conversation with native speakers to learn the local language.

Wow, thanks for that. I had no clue about the Muay Thai for ed visa. I would love that actually.

The link was from the "announcement" part. http://www.thaicongenvancouver.org/i...d=24&Itemid=52

Basically saying if they catch you doing multiple border runs for new visas they consider that dishonest intentions for applying for a tourist visa and you can get in trouble.

I know that's old news though.

Sub 1000 in bkk means you dealing in BOTTOM of the barrel kinds of girls.
Nothing wrong with that but it just misleads newbies on what s up in bkk.

Is anyone else saving $ in this bkk heat? Its just kills the desire to do anything.
ok, i guess there werent any hotties out in bangkok on a friday night then cuz she was the best i walked past

not sure how that makes sense but you guys think its so and you are the experts

she wanted 1000 for 1 pop, isnt 1000 supposed to get you couple hours? i countered 750, she said 800, and 1300 for 2 pops and she rushed the whole time so didnt take to long, barely over an hour if even

you can believe im overrating her hotness if u like, maybe my number was a tad high, but i aint lyin when i said the hottest girl i saw there while roaming for 2 hours

its actually quite nice, ive described it more in my new blog post comming out today why I actually picked it. Also because the room is small and not what ballers have, i figure the pillows and stuff would make them laugh and lighten the mood. Im very funny IRL and usually have the girls eating out my hands anyway, dont need a baller crib. worse case ill use my "sorry staying in a 5* that dont allow guests because of them damn bar girls", then take her to a hotel

Ill bet either of you £500, that I have got how much I said. I could prnt screen all my bank accounts. Only thing is that you will see a -£7k transaction on a certain date (one week before I came). As I sent the money to my brother as I didn't want it all in my account in cased i got robbed/scammed/hacked in Thailand.

if you dont want to put up £500, then can everyone please stfu about how much money I got and were I want to stay. I guess some of you smoke, its clearly bad for you, but you dont see me telling you how to live your life and what you should buy.

if you cant live for 1 year on 15k in thailand and have a pretty good time then you got serious money management issues

it might be harder in bangkok, i bet i still could do it

but i would bet my life i could get by for a year in patts or chiang mei on that much money, and have a great time

how can you not, food costs are like nothing go eat chicken on a stick for 20 baht, a couple pieces of pork on a stick for 10 baht each, rent can be had for $300 in bangkok and $200 or less in chiang mei

whoa there peoples, first time ive seen you get riled up like that

i didnt mean i dont actually believe you, i think your doing what you say your doing with the amount you have (not sure why u cant believe the same out of me but whatevs)

i just mean im shocked that u got 15k and wont use the aircon is all, and are staying in a $150 a month box

hell there were times in vegas where i had $2k to my name with much higher expenses (obv since its vegas) but aircon is just one of those necessities, you dont have to use it all the time, but some.......

do you even play online poker currently? winning player at all? or are you just on a 1 year bender and dont expect to have any money at all coming in?

^lol. I gonna buy a bag of ice and put it in front of my fan, so I get even cooler air, and I can set the fan on speed 1 instead of 2 or 3 which cost more money. Actual method will be to put 4 pieces of ice in a glass, place the glass in front of the fan. Not the whole bag, that's just waste of money!

btw my new blog post is up which explains why I picked were I did if you all really want to know

15K plenty in Thailand for 1 year assuming you can spend it all on expenses. A good English teachers salary in BKK that.

3K a year or even less would be more thai styles

15k/yr is only doable if you don't go to bars and ship bar girls on the regular. Costs can easily reach 2k a month without even going too baller.
