I'm 1 year into a 5 year stay in BKK. I'd be down for a poker meetup.

Was just there, they only have airsoft. I guess you need a license to buy/own air guns in Thailand, no different than owning a real gun. Oh well, higher powered airsoft can take out tree rats with head shots....

How are you guys handling withdrawing from poker sites and using the money for spending or other activities? I usually go from site to crypto and then crypto to revolut. But Revolut's been wanting more and more details lately, and I've got no idea how the repercussions are for European living and grinding long-term from Thailand.

I've read here that someone sends the money from poker site to Thai bank, but surely that would get you into trouble long-term wouldn't it?

Yes i am thinking the same lately. Revolut asks more and more and it is weekly based. I am on their metal plan for the past 6 or 7 years but i will withdraw my balances and wont renew the plan

I would be interested if there are any companies who could provide similar plans to revolut or maybe companies who work with both crypto and fiat and provide cards for their customers

It seems it is becoming more and more difficult to move around money while living in Thailand

I used to do Poker site to Crypto to Binance and exchange via P2P there. Thing is that with all the scams going on in Thailand many scammers used this method to move money and my bank account got flagged apparently and suspended with over 10k THB in it (could've been much worse tbf).

Have the name, email and phone # of the policeman in charge of 'my' case and emailed them once to no response. I want the account back mainly to be able to sa-can when I eventually go back to Thai and because having an extra debit card to use abroad was always nice (especially being able to swap crypto for money in it so easily in binance).

That said, have other friends using this same system that never got their transactions suspended or their account frozen so it probably is a matter of luck, still yea, a big PITA to sort that out and I'm sure that is not just about the scammers but that 30% tax thing they implemented recently.

A part of me really wants to come back to LOS sometime this year for a few months but stuff like this and reading Bangkok Post and Thaiger headlines from time to time makes me feel like I made the right call of GTFO of that country, is just that living there can be so convenient if you jump through a couple hoops lol.

Bitkub was allowing new accounts for foreigners as of a few months ago. You can also try to exchange p2p on here. Much Better works for emergencies or last option type scenario, their fees are too high for regular use, same as Neteller.

So Bitkub bringing in a coins from outside and converting to baht is a taxable event I'm assuming?

Yes, but I doubt it's a big deal unless really significant amounts...I've been making deposits into my Thai bank for almost 12 years, nobody ever asked for anything.

When you mean significant, what you think is significant? 5k/m will get flagged in your opinion?

IMO no. The law is basically to tax wealthy individuals.

Yeah, I know in the past it hasn't been a problem but there is that new law and Thailand has quietly become pretty adept with electronic record keeping. I guess as long as you don't voluntarily start filling taxes then probably alright.

Yeah, I’m also on the Metal plan, but I’ll probably keep it since I use a lot of the subscriptions that come with it. I’ll just sort out some backups for when Revolut decides to give me trouble again.

As for Binance, I’ve heard they’re not too keen on crypto sent from gambling sites and might even report it, so I avoid using them—though I could be wrong about that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll check out Bitkup; I hadn’t heard of it before. I haven’t tried P2P yet, either.

Planning on going to Thailand and/or Vietnam for a couple months soon. Can someone confirm that I will be able to play on pokerstars with my UK account? Will I need a VPN?

Thanks

No need for VPN, just let them know you'll be traveling so your account doesn't get blocked.

if you get a bj, then after find out the chick has mouth herpes...how long before it shows up on your junk or how many days til you're in the clear? Any meds needed for prevention? (asking for a friend)

it can lie dormant for a long time, but I think you tend to get sick too if it's your first time. If you feel the herp coming on you wanna take some Acyclovir (the faster you act the quicker it will go away, but probs looking at 1 week+ esp for first time) from any pharmacy, but I'd recommend more legit ones just so they don't give you a mega dose...

So basically you can have it, and it won't show up for months in some cases? The Acyclovir is just if you have symptoms, but doesn't help prevention, is this correct? Thank you btw, I knew this was the right place to ask...

yeah basically and once you have it you have it for life, so only prevention is fading it in first place.

A friend got herpes and after consulting with his doctor back home he told him about a new possible therapy to cure herpes, ozone therapy, he did 6 ozone therapy, he showed me his blood test before and after ozone therapy and herpes was gone after the therapy. Don't worry bro, worse case scenario you gonna burn ~$1k and after penor back to normal.
