What's the grinder situation like in Seoul? There seems to be a few there judging from regs locations on pokerstars, and how some big name Starcraft 2 players have publicly stated they are switching to poker.

I really want to set up a grindhouse/apartment in Seoul but there doesn't seem to be any interest on 2p2. Are there any Korean poker forums or better places to look for people interested in this? Thanks

This is interesting to hear. I know that Korean citizens people can only visit one casino on the mainland and weren't allowed in them on Jeju. Many illegal homes games have been busted over the years.
Some of those people could be foreigners living/working in Korea. I hope the banhammer doesn't come down since the internet is so nice here.

grindhouse with people u don't know seems very -EV, keymoney and/or rent can get very steep for multiple bedroom apartments, unless u want to live in areas far from the action

ya pretty much. also you can't open a korean bank account without an ARC afaik so withdrawals for americans would be an issue.

hbc/itaewon area isn't bad for rent or key-money tho.

pretty sure all foreigners can easily open bank accounts

not sure/curious whether or not sites will process cashouts to non-korean players' korean bank accounts, and if it could cause issues with korea/taxes though

maybe, but living with other grinders while playing poker for a living is hugely +EV to me. I've seen some ok apartments with ~$20k key money + monthly rent. I'd even be ok putting the whole deposit down myself in exchange for lower monthly.

It just seems that there is literally 0 interest in a grindhouse in Seoul.

AFAIK it's only the website that is blocked, so you can access the website using a proxy, download the software and then you should have no problems.

Hell if you're willing to put up ~100k you can live the whole year rent free.
