Serviced apartment will be an aparment with the amenities of a 5 star hotel, that's why it's so expensive. I think average Korean salary is about $2500 a month.

Went to a new underground room in Busan last week and it's ****ing awesome (apart from the 10% up to $20 rake). The old underground rooms I went to here guys were buying in for $20 to the $1/2 cash game and literally shoving everyhand, then the game would break every hour or two so everyone could play a turbo tournament and as people got knocked out of the tourney the cash game would start up again and run until the tournament ended, rinse and repeat.

New room is still $1/2 but plays more like $2/5. Lots of guys with over $500 on the table, not much random degenerate gambling but a lot of fish making really fundamental errors. Of course I went there with an uber superior mindset assuming chips would just gravitate to me simply because I'm so much better than everyone else, played my D game and donked off $500. Very excited to go back though, I think the game will be very beatable despite the tremendous rake.

So, my gf got a job at a public school, and we are set to move at the end of April. Only problem is in the email she got it said something about her needing an ARC before she could get her internet set up and this would take a month. The school is providing housing. Is there an alternative option like getting an aircard if we can't get the internet set up in her apartment for a month? I presume aircards are pretty reliable?

Hmmm, im not sure about aircards, but you could buy an 'Egg'. Ask a friend to get it for you when you arrive. It's 40,00ow for someone on KT/Olleh and then 5-10,000 a month for unlimited data. From Hi Mart.
prices vary it seems..

Also, the wifi in Korea is good and everywhere.. Although not sure you'd feel happy playing on a public wifi../

god, ive been paying 9k won a day from the airport, and ive been going to korea every 3-4 weeks for a week at a time.

has anyone been able to get a prepaid sim/data successfully? Ive read online that its "easy" to do at olleh, but seemed impossible. Ive been the 3 big companies, i think kt/sk/olleh. i couldnt quite understand but something about every 3 weeks the companies change of who gets to sell the prepaid sims?

man, korea is no place for foreigners...

Go to the Olleh store by gangnam station, you got to walk towards Yeoksam station about less than 10 mins

i had a buddy tell me that while he was here he went to a bunch of languagecast meetups and they were the absolutely easiest way to meet new women. fish in a barrel. and networking with 20something koreans (dudes and girls) is key to further female acquisition.

https://www.facebook.com/languagecast

needless to say, i'm going to start going. if anybody else wants to go with just shoot me a pm.

i met up with a coworker for a little get together near yangju station with her, her husband and some of their friends and they're obsessed with setting me up with attractive, educated women. seriously, if you have even the smallest amount of game and sense of adventure and you like korean women you need to try seoul. it's incredible. again.

also doing an intense self power through rosetta stone korean (i'll review it) before starting with a tutor i've had recommended for me. undecided on whether or not to take a month off and do the yonsei intensive language course, which is apparently populated almost entirely by hot, wealthy taiwanese, chinese and japanese women.

Im thinking about playing full time starting at NL25.
While working as an english teacher at an academy.

I think you have it the wrong way around, don't you mean playing 25NL part time while working full time as an English teacher at an academy?

Well, if you have a win rate of 5bb/100 and can manage over 1400 hands an hour then it might be marginally more profitable.

Skate scene in Busan, fairly underground. There is at least one skate shop, a couple of skate parks 45 minutes away that look pretty much awesome and are usually abandoned and a few Korean kids who skate (presumably you're not talking about ice-skating).

i'll be curious to hear what you say about jeju-do. when i was there i thought it was kind of a ghost town. i didn't like it. seemed like a place where everybody knows your business.

Lived there for 5 years and that's pretty true. Also, Jeju Koreans are very traditional about things. I tried to sell a poker book on a Jeju foreigners website and got called into my bosses office the next day to talk about the dangers of gambling.

Hello,(안녕)

I'm new to 2+2 but I've been living in Seoul for the past three years. I haven't been playing poker much, but I remember they took the Poker Room out that was in CoEX.

Just wondering if it's legal to play on Stars here using my US bank account.

As for the Iphone question, Koreans seem to find the Iphone more fashionable.

고마워!
