Dudes, is it possible to get a car registered without having ARC in this country? Getting conflicting reports on the internet.

My guess would be no. That registration number (Koreans all have similarly styled numbers) is required on pretty much anything official. But if there are people out there saying they have done it then maybe it's possible.

Also how are you here without an ARC?

It's all legal though, I just travel a lot and stay a good amount of time in Korea. The immigration knows about that

One of my friend did the same for 13 years lol

I wish i had some % of korean blood through my veins

It's so hard for foreigners to get a long term visa here.... Need to find a nice korean girl and this problem is solved in a few years (or few months if you do it korean style)

I'm here on D-9 visas. If I have a visa for more than 6 months (181 days) my company have to pay local taxes. Visa for 6 months=ARC for 6 months. I left and came back on a tourist visa. Will have ARC again, just not now.

So tempting, but so nervous about it. Certainly not like the old days when they'd stick their signs advertising Texas Hold'em right out on the street.
Well, police made that decision for me.

Games are getting shut down quick these days.

You just have to factor the small possibility of not getting paid into the EV calc of sitting down in games like that. It happens.

A Korean friend of mine played in the game I was thinking of playing in for about two months in two different location. It moved close to my house and the first weekend a foreign friend of mine played Friday and Saturday night and won around a million and had no problems. Then a couple of days later he called me and told me not to play there saying our Korean friend had won seven hundred thousand the night before and they'd refused to pay him. A few days after that I was told the police had raided it and it had been shut down. I guess either they weren't paying people and someone ratted them out or they knew they were getting raided so decided to gauge their customers out of a final few million before the hammer dropped. I had another friend years ago who was invited to a big private game too, he won 4 million and they wouldn't pay him. It happens sometimes in these underground games but I don't think too often, it is a business and they do generally want people coming back. I think it just has to be factored into the decision to play.
