To be fair those pictures are of the newly renovated downtown area, which is all neat and new and organised. The residential areas of beirut itself are a mess with zero urban planning or design. But that too has its charm. Then there are the rural old towns in the mountains with the tiled roofs and stuff which are nice.

Girls are great imo, with a few drawbacks. Theyre always dressed up, full makeup, wherever they go out. And plastic surgery is pretty prevalent. Sometimes its like a thousand clones who look alike. There are some places and circles you can go to whee youll meet girls that are a bit different and cooler.

Theyre pretty friendly, theres a fair amount of easy sloots but id say on average to get a girl in bed you have to put in more effort than in states for example.

Will post some pics from nightlife or facebook stuff later.

As far as security, i think its either everything is totally ****ed up and theres a mini war, or its the safest place ever.

Ive never had or had a friend have any mugging, theft, attack, etc... You can walk around beirut any time of the night and feel pretty safe imo. There was a spike in car theftf for a while though. It was ridiculous.

Haha. Define pull? Actually pretty sure most would have no problem with it.

Every leb family has relatives in brazil, canada, france or the usa. And its pretty westernized. Theyd likely view it as a good thing.

If youre talking longterm relationships a lot of parents do have a problem with religion though. But would be the same as with a lebanese christian.

Funnily enough i was hitting on a muslim girl years ago and she was a good family girl but her mother wouldnt let her since it would "go nowhere". Then she found out i was half french and insta liked me since she spent her college days there and loves it.

Beat: did not end up sexing her anyway

Theres onlyone casino in lebanon, its about 20 km from beirut. No casinos in beirut itself.

I havent been in a year so some stuff may have changed but there used to be 3 2/5 tables, two 5/10 and one 10/25, on average. Technically there was 1/2 but due to demand it was always upped to 2/5. There was three electronic tables of 1/2 though.

The poker room opens at 6pm, until 3 am.

Mondays there are tournaments as well, buyins are usually very high, 500$ open rebuys, 1000$ two rebuys, stuff like that. Sometimes you get a 200$ open rebuys one. Structure sucks, blinds go up way too fast. Play is horrible though.

Rake at cash games is paid at the start of the hour. 30$ on 5/10, 15 on 2/5 and 60 on 10/25.

Very soft games, with a few good young players, and lots of old guys who are pretty bad. However theres a lot of talking that goes on, and collusion among the young players sometimes.

So would you say Lebanon is one of the safer countries to live in the middle east? How long can a US citizen stay there before doing visa runs?

Afaik US citizens can get a visa on arrival here at the airport, for one month renewable up to three.

However you can apply for yearly residence, up to one year at a time, and its not just for workers. Im pretty sure you can put some random reason for staying.

In general in lebanon theres a bureaucratic way around everything, for a small fee. Its chaotic but also highly convenient at times.

I wouldnt say its the safest. For one right now the political situation is volatile because of syria. And in general, id imagine dubai or qatar, the small rich tightly ruled nations would definitely be safer, but id say its pretty safe as far as personal safety goes.
