Anyone wants to trade php cash for online funds?

Have skrill, stars or revolut. Been usin world remit, but it's still pretty high cost and takes a lot of time waiting in bank branch or lbc.

Live in Panglao/Bohol area, but going to El Nido, Coron, Camiguin, Siquijor and Manila in February too. Also curious how most of you get cash if you grind online.

I'm using transferwise, should be one of the cheapest(cheaper than worldremit for sure) ways to transfer money here... Though obv it still cost some money(depending an amount).

What's up with so many players here having the sound on with no headphones in when playing on poker apps? It's one thing to use these apps at the table, I occasionally do it, but it seems bizarre to just sit there with all the beeps and chirps constantly playing loudly. If you did this anywhere in NA you'd get called out for it, but here it seems the norm. Incredibly annoying sounds to subject your tablemates to for hours on end. Nevermind all the other people that consume media with audio on and not using headphones. Strikes me as remarkably disrespectful to your peers.

Better get used to because it's culture. When filipino go to gym they play 50cent from their phone and not give a damn if you like it or not. Same with beeping phones everywhere, chinese .. They play music out of their tablet / phone in elevator cough on you and slap every single door they can. It's time to welcome corona virus by the way.

Some things that bother westerners don’t bother other Filipinos/Asians nearly as much as you’d expect. Not saying it’s right or wrong that’s just the way it is.

Someone spilt Smirnoff mule on my laptop.

It's not turning on. It doesn't get past memory check. Is there anywhere I can go to that will clean my laptop?

I tried 20 banks unsuccessfully last year. I had stayed here 3 months when I tried.

I have 50% winrate with opening accounts, but as a general rule you need permanent resident status to open it.

I think 6 months is minimum and all banks wanted to see my longterm apartment contract

You need acr card at the very minimum but even w acr card seems very hard lately to get accounts open (tourist acr that is)

Alternative is getting good referals then might be possible even w/o.

Yeah we all think Asians are just meditating and doing Tai chi all day until we actually come to Asia.

A generalization about 3 billion people is pretty silly though anyways.

How do I get to extend my visa now that all taxi/Grab/Angkas etc are banned? Do the immigration offices even operate now? What happens if I overstay my visa and show up next month in immigration office wanting to settle it?

well, you couldn't leave if you wanted to, so a visa is a bit extraneous at the moment
