IMO it's just ******ed (and incredibly ev-) to tip on a 10% rake (which is sometimes uncapped)...

I guess unless you play higher stakes, but since the most games running are between 25-50 to 100-200 it doesn't really make sense to me anyways.

We have banana ketchup here(Guam), but that's mainly because we have so many Filipinos.

Sorry, didn't mean to derail

Do you know what brand?

mmmm banana ketchup sounds like a nice new topic

I had a couple different, distinct kinds that weren't too memorable. Then one night hanging out in some bar... girls were craving MCdo. So we went on a burger run... and they had UFC brand ketchup already in the bar, it was really tasty stuff. I never looked too hard for it here in the US but i'm sure it could be found. After the meal we got a nice show from the girls slurping on those magnum ice cream bars... back then the packaging and shape of the frozen treat were a little different. I felt like a little boy discovering a fetish i never knew existed, and possibly the #1 missed photo opportunity of my life, but it's still very fresh in my mind.

Bbones, are you a local in guam or just visiting? If so are you still able to play in pokerstars? I was raised there but havent visited since 2008. The banana ketchup "JUFRAN" is a Phil brand the same with the lechon/barbecue sauce "Mama Sita" that looks a little like gravy.

one thing i didnt like about vegas was going somewhere like the grand lux pickup at the venetian and those guys expect a tip, you walk across the hotel to them, all they do is take the food that someone brings to them and hand it to you, yet they give attitude (and i think they even tell the poker room staff that calls in the order) if you dont tip them
Lets give it a rest K2... these guys grew up in countries that dont practice tipping so even though these girls are expecting a tip they wont get it from them. Yes Phil is part of asia but this guys dont realize that majority of these girls customers are westerners, rich asian foreigners or rich locals and most tip. I can gurantee that these girls asian customers tip more than their western customers. On the barfine the bar receive majority of the fee, this is becuase the girls are expected to receive a TIP, yes a tip not a taxi fare. When I was in school and worked as a waiter, I received a $500 tip from a Japanese tourist in Guam while serving his family at a Pacific Star Hotel restuarant. I also received a $40 tip from a Japanese female tourist for her 2 glass of wine. Japan is one of those asian countries that dont practice tipping but they understand that when you are in a country that practice it then you should tip. If I was to go to Japan and dined in one of their establishments that caters mostly to tourist then I will for sure tip. AC is one of the hotpots for sex tourism so the locals are accustomed to receiving a tip. We have to realize that at one point there was a big american military base in the area so even though it's a ****hole it is still americanized just like any big city in Philippines. Havent people wondered why philippines second national language is English?

i would further comment on paulB, but i already got a warning from an admin for saying mean things about jspill so i cant

i miss AC

need to get back to the 5 figure range so i can go back and do it proper this time

heading to sihinouk in a bit, when there im gonna have nothing to do (like ive had during the day for the past week) and will do a budget breakdown so peeps can figure out how cheaply it is to live there

really hope sihinouk is great so i can quit traveling for a bit, would guess over the past 3 nights have got maybe 5 hours sleep if lucky (in the 25 hours ive spent laying in bed alone trying to sleep)

being a light sleeper is awful, every noise, every light, being in a new place.....

on a side note, i had a major migraine problem back in the states, im talkin in january i had them 26 of 30 days (that was my worst month)

only had 1 headache here in asia so far, it went away after i took a pill, and it was on the night of my 13 hour flight coming off no sleep for a few days

if it continues this way and im not getting or very rarely getting headaches then no way would i ever go back to the states (hell doubt i will anyways)

I have chatted with PaulB in person regarding this tipping argument before, he is probably laughing at how heated this thread got.

I moved out here in 2005, was able to play online for the first couple years. My bank blocked my deposits even before black Friday so I stopped playing online a while ago. I'm not 100% positive but I don't think you can play online here either.

They have a Liberation Day carnival with a casino so I've been getting my fix with that lately, unfortunately my skills are a little rusty.

Hey guys, a girl invited me over for her house barbecue on the weekend. She said her mom and dad were making all the food.

It sounds really good, but I don't want to feel like a freeloader. How much should I tip the mom and dad each? I was thinking about adding up the cost of all the food I eat and tipping 30%?

It's just during the festivities, but somehow it stays open until Aug. 11. Part of the profits go to charity. I'm originally from Minnesota, supposed to be here for 2 years but have stayed since, so I guess I'm not bored yet

To bring it back to the PI, currently dating a filipina that was born and raised here, third times the charm. Kinda interesting, the first filipina I dated was born in Cali, then the second actually in the PI but went to H.S. In Guam. Def my type but I can't take the accent, ha ha"

Well Guam is defnitely different from Minnesota. Before I left in 2008 I was using moneygram or western union to deposit into pokersites... try that if there is an option for it or try prepaid cards.

Dude if you have been invited to someones house they won't expect you to pay anything FFS, take a bunch of beers or a bottle of Tanduay or something as a present.

Just read that the pi is planning to get strict about return and onward tickets.
The laws were all ready there but immigration rarely checked. They announced today that they will start fining the airlines and refusing entry to anyone without a ticket.
