K2 Schwab will refund the fees at the end of the month from Phils ATMs, (any ATM in my exp.). It is a great idea and yes you absolutely should be watching your pennies (splurge on drinks and p****). Would like to hear a report if and when you actually do touch down. Or is this the Travel Forum level of the century? :-)

I opened a savings account at metrobank without an ARC so did Tyler I think, but it's just savings with ATM only card.......but it helps.

Are the ATM fees really 200 pesos? That seems a bit steep. 25-50 pesos seems normal.

I can't believe he'll be here tomorrow. I'll probably not even introduce myself since he doesn't want to meet me anyway.

And yes I was drunk last night with the pocket fives, like everyone freaking knows. .....

Did metro too , guess it depends on the which one you go too . In my case , they were just about to refuse me , even with Acr card , when an older and obv. respected foreigner stepped in , checked out my card and gave his blessing !!
Yep , before i got the bank account , got charged 200 , visa and mastercard , think they brought the charge in last year , really sucks , especially if you can only take 10.000 out .
Best to find one where you can take 20\30 out .

I used my passport and expired California driver's license plus a little white lie, but as you said it depends on the branch and the manager. BDO showed straight to the door without an ARC lol.

i was told at my citibank today by a guy who worked in the bank who checked with his manager that you can withdraw USD at citibanks in manila with a citibank account with no transaction fee, also in most of the other big cities, you just cant do it in smaller cities

sure hope he is right that would make things much more convenient and save me a lot of money

pretty sure id rather be pulled feet first through a corn field that happened to be on fire and filled with toxic chemicals while having pigeons pecking at my eyes and a rusty nail going directly through my ballsack than play a hand of live poker any time in the immediate future

Why do you need to withdraw USD if you live in Manila?

not suicidal, just depressed, went into the summer with modest goals of $100 a day, shouldnt have been difficult since made $150 a day the 3 previous months in non wsop time playing sessions that were half as long as i played over the summer

that woulda had me in makati with 6 month lease and deposits paid and still have 10k in the bank with a nice amount of money to blow in the first few weeks

now im gonna be in some ghetto apartment or in shinoukville with like 4k left in the bank if im lucky, and i pretty much only made a couple mistakes the entire summer, not to say i played every hand optimally, but when the stacks went in i always had what i should have had sans 1 or 2 borderline times

sigh sorry to bitch just really depressing, when i was on fire march-may i told all my friends things were going to well and either it was gonna be a tease and i would have bad summer or my plane would crash or something would happen right as i landed, well now lets hope its just the run bad and maybe i can be alright over there (i know my life so i doubt it)

lovelee, i have a tiny bankroll, i need to save every dollar i can, from what ive heard you get the best exchange rates at money changers (like normas) and not at the banks, if i can just withdraw $100 bills from citibank and take them to an exchange place over time that will save me $100s of dollars which i cant afford to waste

supposedly though if u use citibanks at citibank atms you get no fees and very close to the best rate, thats what i read on another forum atleast, same with if you use charles schwaab which im gonna go set up tomorrow, and i have capital one which says it has no overseas fees

fwiw for a cheap throwaway ticket clark to bangkok has some really cheap flights

Dude you got to stop with the low self confidence, and negativity. In particular with your life role being so low, you're best shot as success is going to be over all contentment in life, and positivity. If you don't have those, and you also have such a small roll, you are probably more likely to fail then succeed.

So try to not think all those negative thoughts, and instead be positive and confident, and make enough +ev life decisions that you stay that way. That should give your poker the best chance for success.

pretty much impossible to have lived the life ive lived and have a positive outlook... like i said even when i was running like god i knew what was comin

i was gonna bring a monitor over with me but just realized that it doesnt have an HDMI outlet, anyone know if there is an adapter that can be purchased if thats the case? and if so if i will have any shot of finding one of those anywhere in PI?

if not i may just not bring a suitcase with me cuz all these airlines have bag fees nowadays and in particular the airlines that do the cheap flights throughout asia, will end up costing me a lot less in the long run unless i can bring this monitor

Is Adderall available in the Philippines? Specifically, if a person had a prescription from back home could they get more while living/visiting the PI?

@k2d

no idea about your question.
What you might want to take with you is a sink plug .
Before my first trip i read about bringing one .
And the only 2 times i stayed in a hotel there was none .

K2D I posted this before, the banks do give .5 more pesos per dollar than money exchangers.
Adderall is available in the big bad city, but not in small provinces. Just go to a doctors and ask for it, and he'll prescribe it without any hassles.

I think you're going to Cambodia aNd not PI, that's my guess, but for what it's worth I do believe you going somewhere, and it actually July 13 right now, so I assume you're on a plane.

5 year old laptop, no money, no passport, no plane ticket, no online winning record.

Can you at least post a pic of your mom to pay back the work people have done here in answering your inane and pointless questions?

Metrobank gave me 42 pesos to 1$ when I opened my account.

Money changers all give me 41.5 pesos to 1$

I don't know anything that's just my experience this month.

lovelee im going to PI first, why people dont believe things i say i dont understand, but with my current bankroll situation charlie harpers in shinoukville at $150 a month does sound the best so if i dont really love PI im gonna check out charlies

its not friday for me yet, thats tomorrow

and i think with your bank and money exchanger situation its one of two things, either you arent taking into account that the exchange rate changes all the time, so when u exchanged at the bank the dollar was worth more on that day, or you didnt hunt for a good exchange place that gave a good value and just went with the first you found

i know that youre there and im not, but ive read 1,000+ times that money exchangers give a better rate
