8 hour round trip drive yesterday to the grand canyon. not really worth it to me (been before), but it was fun, and wifey really wanted to go. we chose to just drive the tow car there from laughlin, nv instead of doing an entire trek with the big rig. final destination of this leg of the trip is san diego, so GC was just out of the way (altho a must see in wifey's opinion). now in lake havasu, az in a resort overlooking the lake and with pool/hot tub. good times. been slacking on the poker this week; need to get on it for rake race's sake!

terribly jealous

I'd actually really like to this sometime in the near future with my gf. I don't have a house for some equity but I guess after I get that I would think about it. Have you even considered what you would do if playing online after dec 1st became more or less impossible? Something to think about I guess.

Have fun nitting it up.

dec 1st can KMA. i dont think anything will be different. in fact, i predict online poker will be (federally) legal/regulated/taxed within 5 years max.

ya, a bunch of other friends said the same thing about "more pics". i hear that, its just sooo boring for me to dl the photos on to the computer, and also upload to the blog. also, my internet connection is sometimes slow. i suppose i should just suck it up tho. maybe we could just host some on the internet somewhere. ive never done that before, any suggestions of sites?

come try it out (rv life) anytime mr. playoffs! you know youre welcome to hang with us if you like!

had my first big losing day of the trip, but have recovered most of it. i guess im actually quite happy with the way poker has been going, so cant complain about one bad day, regardless of how much was lost! just moved to twentyninepalms, CA. heading to joshua tree nat'l park today, and possibly again this week. may stay here for 5 nites. had the first "cold" day in the past month yesterday. a cold front came thru with winds and temps in the 50's, however it was still sunny. back to the 70's today and 80's this week. the weather is incredible. have free wifi here, but no cable (only two channels).

ha
i was at the 5/10 earlier today with u, i shouldnt have folded 44 on the btn to ur utg raise. You check raised the turn against those two monkeys. I dont think i would have gotten much from u , maybe from the monkeys tho

yea last night....you were utg and raised and there were 2 late pos callers, I was on the btn but folded. Flop 7 4 2 maybe, u bet 80 they both call. Turn 8, you check one bets like 90 and you c/r to 290, and he folds. You dance around the RV and celebrate. ( THIS WAS ON PO btw) I changed my name.

I folded 44 on the btn that hand. I'm not sure if I should be playing low pairs. When I play there I'm definitely playing over my head in both skill level and BR management. But, When there are monkeys there I guess it's ok.

So do you get to shower everyday? I'm not sure how RVs work and everything. I am kind of a shower nit and would definitely want a shower each day. What do you guys normally eat? Grill out?

this is one of the larger rv's, tho by no means one of the best. a "normal" really good one would be around 100k, though you could also spend up to 1 or 2m for the best. anything over 100k is pretty much gravy, especially in this economy. 40-60k you can get a really nice one. ours was 30k, and is nice but with higher milage (75k). ours is gas not diesel. all that said, we have a full shower, all the holdings tanks, about the best generator you can get (7.5kw onan...when on powers lots), an invertor (can run a couple "plug in" electrical things off the batteries for a while), a 32" flat screen, a microwave, gas stove top, and oven, hot water, huge amt of storage, hydrolic jacks to level, a large refrigerator, and most imprtant: two slides which make the inside much more spacious. so far, i havent had any negative feelings about space really. there are obviously some drawbacks and compromises that must be made, but there are positives compared to my house. we have an auto ice maker here, while my home doesnt! the best part tho is being on the go and being able to go back and lay down or get stuff out of the fridge while in motion. this thing is so comfortable while moving. oh, also we moved our own bed that we slept in at home in here, so that is no different.

forgive me for prying but I just dont get some of the comments u are making about poker. I have played 5/10nl for several years now and I dont understand these "big losses" of $1500, or how you hope to possibly be able to cover your 3k a month of expenses off of playing 5/10nl (should be no prob even for a small winner). My experience tells me (and I will give you that I am anything but a nit as you claim to be) that the swings in this game are far bigger. I hardly even consider 1500 much of a loss at all especially when playing more than 6 tables. Am I missing something here, or maybe u are playing 5/10 fixed limit not no limit??

Either way good for you for traveling the country in an rv I think this is amazing and you seem to be having a great time. Way to do something unconventional!

nice post. the most i will ever play is two 5/10nl tables at a time, and dont play those stakes close to every session. i hope i dont convey that i play 5/10nl exclusively; i have just found a game that i have been able to make good profits at. i play a max of 12 tables, all nl/fr, my main game being 1/2 as it is the most available game. i will play any tables that are good on my three sites up to 5/10, and most of the time (besides weekends) there will only ever be 4+/- tables that i consider "good" above 1/2. i also play .5/1 in order to get my amount of tables to 12. a daily loss of $1500 IS huge to me at this point, as i just dont lose that much often. another factor is that i would estimate that i play only 15-20hrs or so per week. i want most of all not to want anything to come across as just some big brag or whatever. i feel quite confident that i can cover my expenses, and also save hopefully as well, i am just conservative by nature, and know that nothing is for sure. i dont like to make blanket statements, and i like to always consider the worst possible scenario. i have often just posted some of my thoughts on here too, which would include worries etc. anyway, its really great to be able to come on this thread and see someone has taken their time to post, good or bad. thanks again to you guys.

ok sweet, I was seriously starting to wonder if I was doing something wrong with my swings that are like 3-5x what your talking about. Was about to have to track down that motorhome of yours to figure out how in the world your swings were that low Thanks for the clarification. Doesnt really matter if your playing .5/1 or 50/100, your adventure is awesome, keep it up!!
