Hey, I'm wondering if there are any 2+2ers out there from Chicago or if there is any established poker scene in that city? My best friend from high school just moved out here for a new job and I'm visiting for the weekend. We're up for any suggestions on stuff to do for the weekend or chill people looking to go out. I just got here today and it seems pretty awesome actually, tons of energy and young people. We're just two 26 year-old guys from Jersey (not guidos, normal white guys from the suburbs) so if you have any suggestions or want to hang out this weekend post here or shoot me a PM.

Check the EDF thread, there are a good number of us living there. Moved back to suburbs for rest of year so won't be around but could give some restaurant recs if you give price range/what you want to eat.

Will do. There seems to be three main things to try (although if you know of something else let me know).
1) Steakhouse - My buddy is reasonably busto and I doubt he would want to drop more than 50 bucks on a meal. I know it's impossible to get the best under those circumstances but do you know of anything that's a good value?
2) Deep dish pizza - price doesn't matter obv
3) Chicago style dog - price doesn't matter obv
4) ??? - something local I haven't hurt about?

1: they'd know better in edf, haven't tried any of the good ones
2: lou malnati's 100%
3: not sure, prob ask in edf also
4: for cheap chicago style food portillo's is pretty popular. for something more interesting (and expensive- probably about $30/person w/out drinks) maybe try girl and the goat, newish restaurant by top chef winner stephanie izard which i enjoyed a lot a couple weeks ago.
