Ive been thinking about this hand a lot since I saw the broadcast last night and would like to see how others feel about it.

Blinds: $30,000/$60,000
Ante: $10,000
Players Left: 2
Tables Left: 1

Edited to add stacks: Both players had ~2 million each.

Shawn Buchanon raises to $130,000 and Jared Hamby adds $220,000 to the wager. Buchanon makes the call. The flop comes Qs-9h-4h and Hamby bets out $410,000. Buchanon doesn't blink as he makes the call and the audience begins to murmur as the turn is the 9c. Hamby thinks for a minute before betting out $600,000, and Buchanon has to give the matter some thought before making the call. The river is the Kd and Hamby checks to Buchanon, who checks behind and shows pocket threes to take down the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

FTR Jared had A10cc iirc. What are everyones thoughts on Buchanons play in this hand?

hard to say in a vacuum, how much had jared been reraising?

I like the turn call if he's going to call flop though, good card came and the bet from hamby isn't that big compared to the pot. What are the chip stacks???

Jared had not been rr alot at all. In fact, he will tell you that this was the first time all FT that he rr pf then fired the flop and turn. I really feel like calling the turn sucks and shoving is much much better.

Jareds post about the hand from Televised Poker forum:

on my way out to caesars so have to keep it brief... prolly ck/call if board paired, dont see myself folding... and yea I don't think he played the hand well at all vs a player like me, it was the first time I had fired pre/flop/turn so far I believe and he has to give me credit for a hand there... oh wellz I think he is a really good player just don't like his line on that hand... and the final 33 hand he shoulda just open shoved or raised/called... limp/calling was pretty bad for obv reasons imo

given stack sizes i agree that turn should be a push not call, he's leaving 1 mil for a 2 mil pot. I don't really like the flop call after that reraise if he hasn't been actively reraising either. Its a hard spot for 33 though, usually i'd just want it in preflop obv but too much here I think to push it against someone who hasn't been reraising.
