Weird spot in the BWO 0 Weird spot in the BWO 0

Hero - mid 20s, card dead since being moved to new table so no real reads. picked up a few blinds in position.

Villain - mid 20s, wearing a funky hat and constantly leaving the table. very aggro in position but hasn't 3 bet pre yet. He fired on all three streets with a gut shot against a 50 year old tight passive guy and got paid off when he nutted and jammed the river and the 50 yr old had top set. he actually seemed to be tightening up after that.

500/1000/100

Hero (22,000)
Villain (80,000)

Hero 1010

Folded to Hero (CO), Hero raises to 2200.

Villian (BTN) raises to 6000

Hero....?

come on man

think about how wide your cutoff opening range should be, and how wide he can correspondingly 3 bet the button for value (let alone the times he is bluffing), and answer the question yourself

hint: the answer is jam

I know, I know - it seems silly that I wouldn't just insta shove..

I just had some weird vibe that he had me crushed. He was hankering for a call.

if you have some sort of overwhelming live read, you could maybe find a hero fold, anything is possible live, but the standard play is to jam and that's all anyone on this forum can tell you I think

what do we think of open shoving instead?

I don't see how open shoving solves any problems, other than absolving you from having to make a decision later in the hand

Spoiler:
Hero raises and is all in. Villian calls with QQ
I guess I'm just second guessing this shove because of the outcome

Yawn. Results oriented. Never fold.
