I really didn't give him credit and thought he'd give up on the river vs. me as most likely an unknown to him.

Thoughts?

fold to his raise on the flop
11-28-2007 , 07:35 AM
kind of a strange spot for him to c/r flop so i can understand the dilemma, but thats a really nasty turn card (aside from giving us heart draw)

Fold preflop.

As played fold to flop raise.

I don't like the turn call I don't think you get value on the river enough to make it profitable/he gives up and we don't improve.

the PF limp is 100% fine

I hate bet/call on the flop. If you think people might play at you, check flop back. Otherwise, bet/fold

I dont understand why in the world we bet the flop
I dont understand why in the world we bet/call the flop
The turn is probably pretty close

As a whole i dont like it at all

I agree with limping being fine here, but i'm not sure about betting out the flop or calling the raise. You seem unsure and readless so i either c/f or hope to peel.
11-28-2007 , 11:51 AM
Fold to the flop raise and probably fold the turn.
11-28-2007 , 12:03 PM
I know why you want to call his flop c/r
But most people just don't [censored] atround in mulitwya limped pots
11-28-2007 , 01:15 PM
Call me weak, but I probably check the flop, fold to the raise, and fold the turn. That bets too big to justify calling although your draw is disguised.

I guess I'm weak too

If I call turn, I'm fistpump calling river

pr limp is fine. had i bet the flop i def fold to the cr but i check flop always here.
11-28-2007 , 05:53 PM
What everyone else said, pf limp is fine, bet/fold flop or check, turn is close, river is whatever

Don't mind the limp. Fold on raised flop. As played, definitely fold the turn as well.
11-28-2007 , 11:48 PM
What hand falls into his range for him to play it this way? If he's not [censored] around in a limped multiway pot then why is he checking the semi-coordinated flop with one tight unknown yet to act behind him? Perhaps it's my LHE roots, but my bluffdar was just going nuts here.

If folding the flop is correct, why? What is his range here?
11-29-2007 , 09:22 AM
his line is so weird. seeing him talk on the table makes me think he doesnt understand alot about poker but not sure how that affects decision.

i would only call flop if i thought he had a wide range, and then i would shove turn.

i also thought the flop check was kinda fishy. do you really think he checks a set in that position and risks giving the free card to half the table?

regardless i don't like bet/calling the flop. there is definitely something off about his line but i feel like its a big time reach to put him on a move here 5 minutes into the tourney with no money in the pot.

if i did bet/call i like raising the turn.

PF is fine
Flop I don't like either of your actions.
Turn as played is close
River I'd never call.

I can't imagine folding preflop. I don't know why everyone hates the flop bet so much, you likely have the best hand, you likely will not have the best hand when the next card comes with 4 others in the pot, take it down.

His flop c/r doesn't come in a multiway pot, it's heads-up when it gets back around to him and he raises. It's a toss-up between it looks like a bluff and it makes no sense for him to be bluffing here. I'd fold because I know another bet is coming on the turn, but I think there's a decent chance your hand is good here.

As played, I would never fold the turn. If he has a set, or just made a straight with T9, you're stacking him if a non-board pairing heart comes on the river. Raising would be crazy, he could easily have the nuts or a set.

As played, fold the river, if he triple barreled with 97 or 76, so be it, but that's all you beat here.
