I've folded KK once preflop and the action was a similar nightmare. QQ put it in vs AA in that situation and I think this is another where I would fold it. The structure and everything else has alot to do with it too. We can all agree that a very very rare set of circumstances has to come along for us to fold KK pre and this is one of them.
I bumped this basically because of what you said: the 1k has such a good structure lately that this is a good and very rare spot where folding KK pre becomes a viable option
This spot this early in this tournament I guess would be part of the .01% chance I fold KK pre. UTG probably the same thing unless I have a darn good read on BTN, and even then, there's the damn CO 3 better. In practice, the only times I've ever folded KK pre is timing out, falling asleep or something...
CO is getting just about 2.5:1 so I call anything that I would have 3 bet the UTG raiser with if it's going to be heads-up. OOP sucks though. Not sure what I can 5-bet jam now -- is it ever a bluff?
You do realize this is at 20/40 blinds with no ante right? And we're getting involved in a pot easily big enough to lose our entire 8k+ stack. The action is just WAY too much for this blind level. I would guess that there hasn't even been much 3 betting at all so far on this table and certainly no 4 betting. Especially when it goes utg 100, cut 475, and button is cold making it 1250 or whatever. This really is a fold, and believe me I would basically never fold KK
I have faced the exact same situation 2times. Once i had KK and shipped it in vs AA
Second time i had AA and shipped it in vs KK. If u are lucky enough to double up this early then you can really crush, but obviously it's never QQ unless u got a spewy player with history.
