Preflop, if he is a very aggressive player who opens a lot of buttons I would consider jamming all in. Versus a standard button open from a lag in mtts ripping A2 suited over his raise is a +EV jam. I could see him folding hands that have you dominated such as A5- A10, 22s thrus 55s. I don't like calling out of position with a 20 BB stack with a hand that doesn't flop particularly well. If an Ace flops you will be put in a lot of tough spots and will only get action from better Aces.

I would be folding preflop with A2s with 20BB in this spot.

You have no fold equity on the flop and are racing at best vs his range.

Also, in general, to be shoving a 20BB stack in this spot I want to do it either with value hands I think beat opponents range or hands that are rarely dominated when called. Yes, you have a blocker but that doesn't mean enough in this spot.

A2s against the range below is 46%

22+, A2s+, K8s+, QTs+, J9s+, T8s+, 97s+, 86s+, A2o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo, T9o, 98o, 87o

The problem is that the times we do get called, we are dominated with about half the equity of lots of middle suited connectors and the like.

the above is way off, sorry

he's not calling 86s, we aren't dominated by mid suited connectors, and racing (having 50% equity) is fine when there is money in the middle

Very surprised about ppl´s opinion on preflop play w/ A2s here for 20bb.
I personally think it´s a pretty easy shove vs anyone competent for 20bb effective in these positions.
Vs a weaker player I MIGHT consider flatting, but even then I cant imagine it being -ev, as I dont see even a weak player opening BTN w/ less than 40% of hands AND even if he is that tight, a weaker player might raise/fold hands like A8,A9,55,KQ,KJs, which a reg would call vs your reshove (resulting in more FE even vs a tighter opening range, given less defending frequency)
So, I def think reshove is the play preflop.

Postflop.. not really a flop I´d expect to see an overbet on, but not a terrible play at all imo. A good player is gunna perceive your range as fairly weak on this flop, given he expects you to reshove every pair and pretty much all of your Ax, as well as a good chunk of your BWs pre.
So BTN knows he has has a huge range advantage on this board and can apply a lot of pressure vs your range, esp nearing the bubble.

W/ your Nut FD/Ace-high showdownvalue vs a BTN range here, I just x/call flop and go from there. One might argue for a x/shove on flop, but I dont really see the point in x/shoving,given we have so much showdownvalue.
